Convenience at the ready

Posted Jun 24, 2015
Pros: Location, location, location!!! This is within a few miles of Yosemite's west entrance. The view over the river is astounding and food is great!
Cons: The mold in air conditioner and bath needs to be addressed as well as damage in bathroom.
Location: This location is with in two miles of Yosemite National Park. Many a trail to hike and access and much to see for the disabled as well.
While Yosemite View Lodge is a convenient location to Yosemite, The staff was less than helpful. The bathroom had many dings faults including what appeared to be mold in the tub. I took pictures with my cell and brought it to the attention at the front desk immediately. The response was less than pleasing to say the least. The man told me he was sure the manager was aware of the issues. Nothing about taking care of the problems. We had also asked for a room with no stairs if possible (My mom an I are both disabled) They put us at an entry with 8 steps. about 300 yrs or more away from us there was a no stair access, but I did not see that until much later. The things I did enjoy were the pizza located at the restaurant on the property. I love the river that runs behind the hotel. Some rooms actually have a view of it (ours did not). The beds were quite comfortable and everything was nice a quiet for a good nights sleep. The true disappointment was the staff. I have been there before and been treated much better so I am not sure what was going on. If you are just looking for a location near the park this is the place, but make sure to get a good deal on the rooms.

Old motel near Yosemite

Posted Jun 24, 2015
The hotel is in a nice location with several pools and a restaurant. The breakfast buffet is $13+ per person but is delicious. The mattresses are the worst I've seen, linens are stained and smell like oily skin, and the pillows are terrible. You will probably wake up with a backache. It upsets me to pay so much for the room but you really have no choice in this area. The kitchenette is helpful to save money (two stove eyes with one pot and one pan, small microwave, small fridge, toaster, and coffeepot). Buy all your food in the bigger towns long before you drive out to yosemite. The small store at the hotel charges 7$ for a pack of kraft singles for example so stock up on all essentials before you arrive. If you can't stay in the park, this is the least sketchy option.

The location is perfect for yosemite valley

Posted Jun 23, 2015
The hotel could use some renovation and probably wasn't the cleanest I've ever experienced but all in all, like I guess pretty much everyone else, we used it as a basecamp to go hiking in and around the valley and for that purpose this hotel is pretty great.

Exceeded my expectatipns

From the pictures I thought it might be a noisy strip by the road. Although I he interior was a bit dated, the room was spacious and comfortable. It's a big facility with a lot of pavement, but the room, pool, and restaurant were all quite comfortable and more than adequate for a brief stay focused upon spending most of the time in the park.

Its all about location

Posted Jun 22, 2015
Pros: Location, Pool and Pizza
Cons: Needs updating badly
Location: Yosemite. There is not a hotel that is closer that is not actually located in the park. you are 25 minutes to El Cap
Our room had an excellent view of the river and was very close to the park entrance. It also had a nice balcony and with the back door open the sound of the rushing water was awesome. Our room though had not been updated in 25 years, the bedspread, carpet and fixtures were very old, and we had a pretty bad ant problem. I also wanted to say that the staff all around was excellent and responsive. The pool and hot tub were nice after a long day hiking and they have an excellent pizza place on site. Skip the sit down restraint as the food was very cafeteria. You can also go to a small country store about a mile down the canyon and get what you need to provision for the next day or put together a pretty good meal in your room as all of the rooms have ‘stocked’ kitchens. I would have been happy in a tent as I was at Yosemite so from that perspective I had it pretty good. If you want or need 4-5 star accommodations you will need to stay at the lodge in the park. If you can look past some of the pomp and circumstance of the rooms it is a good place to stay that will have you at the trail heads before the masses.

Hotel near to Yosemite Park

Posted Jun 21, 2015
Pros: Big room, very generous size, with well equipped kitchenette. 4 pools - indoor and outdoor. Great to have a swim after a day's hiking in Yosemite
Cons: The restaurant served good meals. However there was always a wait (20-30 minutes) so anticipate and book ahead is my advice.
Location: It's a few miles from a Yosemite Park entrance and about 10 miles to Yosemite Valley visitor centre. Great location.
Used the hotel when visiting Yosemite. It is impossible not to enjoy Yosemite - it is fantastic.

Great location but expansive wifi

Posted Jun 20, 2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Free internet? $9.00 per device is crazy.
Location: You can get to Yosemite fast. Nice restaurant inside the lodge.
My room had river view window and it was great. Very close to Yosemite valley north entrance. But, there is no cell signal. You can get their $9.00/day/device wifi access which isn't that fast.
