"pleasantly surprised, not a camper, loved Yosemite!"
easy check in- missed the crowds - gets busy around 5pm. heated tents are warm, 3rd night we got it right- too low first night, too high 2nd night, just right 3rd/last night. 2 single beds are joined foot to foot, so if there is a restless sleeper, the other bed will shake. double bed mattress sinks into the middle, bathrooms were always clean, and never had to wait for a toilet or shower- plenty of hot water, free coffee in reception, can eat/drink in common room, seats/tables go fast esp with families that eat then play cards for hours+, mini supermarket there + souvenirs, food outlets in the park are pretty terrible, bulk cooked food in hot boxes, fattening, surprised at the high cal, low nutrition food available for hikers, pizza place- all protein is pork, don't eat pork, even the bar at The Awhanee has all pork dishes on their lunch menu (except a hotdog). Try the bar at The Lodge, actually nice food, tasty salads, cocktails cheaper than the Awahnee, and food a lot healthier/better, also has water bottle refills in lobby, Cappuccino at Curry Village coffee place was pretty much an expresso with stiff milk- don't waste your tim.lots of animals to admire, Glacier Pt wonderful esp snow covered, waterfalls great, stayed in early May-snowed on arrival and next day, saw it in gloomy, sunny and snowy weather fabulous place, village buses good can get busy, Mariposa great, Mirror walk beautiful- walk anti clockwise better view as other side has more algae so not so mirror view,
