clean and comfortable

Posted Jul 21, 2014
Pros: It was like new
Cons: pricing
Needed a room for one night. For the price it was nice and outstanding. Very high-end place. The breakfast was great, didn't need to stop for breakfast anywhere else. Great staff, very helpful for the surrounding area .

Go with another location if possible

Pros: Quality of room and building was as high as normally found in a Holiday Inn Express
Cons: Better training of breakfast room staff and providing front desk with access to roles of quarters to make change for the laundry room.
For the most part it was a standard Holiday Inn Express experience, but the breakfast service was not well organized. The staff were not keeping the pancake machine stocked and operational nor the other hot items, like bacon, stocked in a timely fashion. They seemed distracted by vacuuming the lobby and didn't seem to recognize that the number of times guests were coming to the counter to ask for things meant that they weren't on top of it. Also, the front office wasn't able to make change for the laundry room machines. Each machine requires six quarters to do one load but the office wasn't able to change bills into quarters and even balked about changing a ten into ten ones. It doesn't make much sense to install machines requiring change but no way for guests to get change on the hotel site if they don't happen to have a bunch of quarters on them. Additionally, there were kids making mischief in the hallways (pushing elevator buttons, trying to steal laundry out of the guest laundry room, etc). The kids' parents were nowhere in site. The hotel staff responded well to being alerted to the problems and spoke to the children. Of course, it's not the hotel's fault that their clientele has bad parenting skills, but it still contributed to an annoying experience.

A Good Choice in Yreka

Posted Jul 4, 2014
Pros: Quiet. Nice rooms. Good breakfast.
Cons: They could provide a list of recommended restaurants in Yreka.
Location: It's a good half way stop for those driving from say SF to Seattle or Portland.
This hotel is a good choice for travelers going from say SF to Seattle or Portland. It is no doubt the best hotel in Yreka and it is located just far enough off the highway that you can't hear passing cars or trucks. Nicely appointed and a good breakfast too, Would stay there again.

OK place to stay

Posted May 29, 2014
Decent place to stay though disappointed that the staff, at checkout, seemed indifferent that the bathroom exhaust fan did not work. The breakfast was great and loved the pancake machine. Though would not deter us from returning, the hotel entrance is poorly marked and have to guess your way to the entrance adjacent to the nearby RV park. There is no entrance on the main road.

Location: Mount Shasta and Crater lakes are near by. Also, Redding is near.
The hotel room was very spacious for five people. Overall it was a great stay. Staff was very nice. Rooms were very clean.

fine but too expensive

Posted Apr 8, 2014
Pros: convenience, brand, cleanliness
Cons: breakfast offering, i.e., no fruit, really no hot food already prepared, I expected buffet style, especially for the price of the hotel
Location: only a traveling stopover late at night nothing I know of except driving to camp areas, hiking maybe
It was a nice Holiday Inn, but just for a stopover for the traveler, too expensive. It was clean, beds comfortable, but breakfast was really subpar, especially for that price. I can book nice hotels in SF near the main attractions for that price with much more offered.
