Yuli is located 50 miles (80 kilometers) from Kaohsiung and about 65 miles (105 kilometers) from Taichung.
Staying in this popular part of Taiwan is about discovering new things, so be sure to go on a little road trip and visit a couple of the other fascinating villages, towns and cities around Yuli. Chishang, 20 miles (32 kilometers) to the northeast, and Donghe, 25 miles (40 kilometers) to the north of Yuli are also well worth checking out.
Around 50 miles (80 kilometers) to the southwest of Yuli is Kaohsiung, an important regional city home to Golden Lion Lake Scenic Area, Kaohsiung Hakka Cultural Museum and East Gate (Fenyi Gate). Kaohsiung has much of interest for travelers willing to explore a little deeper. Kaohsiung National Stadium, Chungcheng Stadium and Holy Rosary Basilica Cathedral are a couple of other attractions not to miss.
Visitors in Taiwan often spend time exploring the area's open-air markets.
Journeying to places you've never been can encourage the wild side in people. If you're feeling adventurous, try paragliding. If you're not one to take a break from work simply to shuffle between the hot tub and the bar, Taiwan offers a number of action-packed pursuits like mountain biking and caving.
At the end of your vacation, say a fond Zàijiàn (farewell) to the locals you've met and the locations you've been.
