“Great for a couple on the go”

Right by the train station. Its about a 10 minute ride to Amsterdam Central, and costs around 4 Euros for one person. From the airport it costs a little over 8 Euros to get to the hotel. The breakfast is not worth 16 Euros a person. There is a supermarket 2 minutes down the street. I would recommend you save your money on that part. The rooms are very modern and neat. The staff are super friendly. The only bad thing was you could hear things going on outside of your room really easily. But I would stay there again!

“Great hotel, but not exactly in central location”

I recently stayed at the Golden Tulip Zaandam and was more than please by the hotel. The staff is very friendly and the rooms are very nice. The superior room in which we stayed even had a down comforter. The in hotel eatery is not very good. The prices are high and the food was just OK. If you are forced to eat in Zaandam and not Amsterdam you are better off to walk to the central town square and there are several places to choose from. Taking the train to Amsterdam can be expensive, generally $5 per round trip, and if you plan on taking a cab it will cost you near $100 per one-way trip. I had to take a cab because on New Years eve the trains stop running at 8pm. Overall, I would suggest this hotel to anyone. It is much more reasonable and nicer than anything you'll find in Amsterdam.

“Modern Dolls house hotel”

Great hotel, 10 min from Amsterdam central station. A great refugee after a busy city day. Very, very good bed!

“Perfect place for our honeymoon”

We loved this hotel! It was so convenient to take either bus or train into Amsterdam. You can walk to either station to catch public transportation. Very reasonable rates for nice rooms. Only ate at restaurant once, food was ok and hours weren't great. Restaurant seemed a bit overpriced, but the hotel rate itself was not. Would definitely stay here again! Highly recommended.

“A Wonderful Surprise”

Walk through the hotel and find a wonderful small town surpirse with unbeatable prices. We thought we were in the middle of nowhere until we walked through the hotel and found shops and outdoor cafes at prices that completely surprised us. At night the small town was "hopping". There are small canals and a lovely town, all within walking distance. We bought all our gifts for friends and family there rather than in the city. Amsterdam is 2 stops away by train which is right in front of the hotel, yet very quiet so you would never know. The room was large and clean and the staff was wonderfully helpful. We would love to go back.

“Good Choice for Price”

The room is slightly smaller than other European hotels, but was hotel extremely clean and quiet. The train to the center of Amsterdam was very easy and not expensive. Very good choice if you have a car. I was there in early August, the hotel was comfortable. Construction was not in progress during the stay.

“Great Hotel & Location”

The Golden Tuplip Hotel in Zaandam is the perfect location: Adjacent to the train station, yet without the noise and bustle of Amsterdam. Nice rooms, reasonable prices, and courteous service. Would stay there again in a minute. All the necessary amenities. The only negative was the higher cost of dining, as compared to the many restaurants in the area. We ate all our meals in the plaza area, trying out the various ethnic restaurants which were terrific and not expensive. The day we left we ate a very good, but expensive breakfast at the Golden Tulip: 29 Euros for two. Would stay there each trip, though. Highly recommend it! You can be at the train depot in less than 3 minutes!

“Great location, friendly staff”

Amsterdam is lovely. The location of this hotel is perfect. It is right outside the train stop. Zaandam is a great place for shopping. It is only a ten minute train ride from town. Staying here saved me money. The room is clean, bedding is lovely, and the staff is wonderful. I couldn't have asked for a better hotel. If I visit Amsterdam again, I will definitely choose this hotel.

“Good Value With A Short Commute To Amsterdam Central”

I seriously doubt one can obtain as nice a room in Amsterdam Central for this price. I am a frequent visitor who can recommend this hotel for business travelers and frequent guest to Amsterdam. Note that a train ticket to central cost 4.10 euros per person for each round trip.
