Nice hotel in small town

Posted Jan 20, 2014 on Hotels.com
Very neat to stay in a castle, however we were in Zafra in the off season (mid-January and mid-week) and it was very dead. In retrospect I wish we had continued on to another town because we had difficulty finding any restaurants open outside of the hotel (although we heard that was good we were looking for something in town). The room itself was very large and nice, although opens to inner courtyard where bar and restaurant entrance were so it got a little noisy late. If I had a reason to be in Zafra I would stay again, but this parador itself might not be a reason.

Great place to visit

Pros: The Castle and its history
Cons: Non
Location: See review
The castle/hotel is in an exceptional location. What you get from the castle in terms of rooms is up to you you get what you pay for. We were more than satisfied with the tarrif Unifica. Restaurant in the courtyard looks good and the bar in the same area is also good. Pool Area is enjoyable. Great experience Zafra is a great town to visit. Close to the Roman ruins at Merida. The hotel arrange the parking in the square so no problems there.

Parador in Zafra

Posted Jun 24, 2012
Pros: Elegance
Location: A little hard for me to find with my GPS. Ended up driving down a walking street. But it was well worth the trouble. Good parking right outside.
This was by far my favorite place to stay. Elegant Ducal palace. Cant say anything wrong about the place. Dinner was delicious.

The best in Zafra

Very nice hotel, as all of the "Parador" hotels. Nevertheless, if you need to use the Internet with your own computer, don't expect much. Their Wi-Fi doesn't work properly (computer or phone), even though the staff insists that it is working... I have noticed that in this location more than one time.

Definitely will come back

Like the other hotels of this chain, the Parador of Zafra is a historical place (a castle) which was modified to accept the hotel. Everything is quite nice and the restaurant is very good. One could not be in a better location in Zafra. It is the downtown area.
