Fantastic experiencePosted Mar 24, 2014
Highly recommend this hotel. The staff is extremely friendly, always smiling and ready to help in any way. The hotel itself is located on idyllic stretch of white sandy beach an clear turquoise waters. The food is excellent and varied so you'll always find something to your taste. The rooms were clean and all of them facing the sea, with direct views to wonderful sunsets. This is the stuff of dreams. You won' be disappointed.

Perfect for beach holidaysPosted Feb 4, 2014
Pros: Gardens are terrific, territory is huge and well-managed, hotel staff is friendly and helpful
Location: Diving, snorkeling and reading book under the palm tree with a cocktail bar handy -)
We booked suite for an overnight. If compared to their regular room (we've stayed in this hotel before) - for substantially more money you receive kitchen and a sitting room. The only difference between different type of rooms is a size. Nothing more. So the suite didn't meet the expectations. The picture of the suite shows proper bath - there is none, only walk-in shower. Taking into account hotel price policy - there are far better options available in surrounding area for these money

Lovely honeymoon resortPosted Jan 19, 2014
Pros: A generous all inclusive option. Great staff: Club Villa (423) butlers, serving staff Spa Sumptuous food Beautiful gardens Honeymoon specials
Cons: The television in the room had a loose connection and had a very unstable picture. Luckily, television was the least of our interests on our honeymoon
Location: Fantastic beach walks on fine sands escorted by intricate coral bank, with rhythmic & confident waves in clear blue water Spice tour Stone town
We loved everything about the resort from the warm welcome at the airport to the well arranged rooms, to the hospitable staff, the well manicured gardens the well maintained beaches, the sumptuous meals, the amazing spa treatments and all this in one inclusive package! We would definitely recommend it!

The Best in Zanzibar right on the beachPosted Dec 19, 2013
From the moment we arrived, it was superb. Caring staff took great care of us. The garden was so beautiful, and the pool and the beach -- ahhhh, I still miss it. We were so glad that we chose this place after visiting Stone town and hearing from others who stayed on the east coast. I made wonderful friends we stay in touch with. The food and drinks were always available, although some of the foods were reused in different menus. I didn't mind terribly since foods weren't wasted. I highly recommend the La Gemma dell'est.

Great for Post Kilimanjaro or just fun with friendPosted Oct 22, 2013 on Hotels.com
8 of us came here for a rewarding vaca after climbing Kili. Just a few main points: 1) FOOD is amazing. I am the last person to ever say I enjoy All Inclusive and in fact avoid it at all costs, but wow. The buffet is just phenomenal and the fresh catch of the day is always good. Vegetarian options also available and excellent. 2) ROOMS we had a deluxe room with the Butler service. The rooms are nice and you get a living room and outdoor space where you can get room service delivered, and butler service is excellent with the included laundry, but the room itself sets you further away from the beach and pool which makes the walk a little annoying. 3) BEACH is minimal even during low tide, but good enough to go for a walk and hang out. The chairs set above the tide are still in sand and great for relaxation and just gazing into the ocean, so can't complain. POOL is decent, there is a pool bar as well. Bathrooms on the beach are surprisingly clean. 4) SERVICE altogether is excellent, everyone is very friendly. I just hate the policy about dressing up for the buffet. Our group was well dressed, but if we had flip flops on we were not allowed in. Meanwhile, people in swim trunks and muscle tees were getting in without a problem as long as they had shoes. Didn't make sense. 5) EXPERIENCE overall is great, but would not recommend this place as a romantic getaway. There are a lot of people there to "party" and loud groups from what we'd experienced in the five days we spent there.

Safari RecoveryPosted Sep 24, 2013 on Hotels.com
Stayed here as last stage of our 3 week safari trip to Kenya and Tanzania. It was the perfect spot to relax after many long days of African massage. The gardens were beautiful, the staff friendly and the food very good. We were very pleasantly surprised.

Beautiful beach with pool close byPosted Sep 21, 2013
We spent three days in paradise here. We just wanted some time to relax and enjoy the beach and the sunsets. There were activities if you are interested--we opted for a thatched hut, good books, and the awesome vistas. The food at the all inclusive buffet was fresh and well prepared. We chose to dine one night at the seafood restaurant which was not included. It was worth the extravagance- great service, lovely ambiance, and a waterfront view.

Beautiful resort, but overpricedPosted Aug 1, 2013
Pros: Beautiful grounds, spacious pool and beach area, friendly service, decent food options for all inclusive resort.
Cons: Front desk service, noise issues, bedding, fitness center.
Location: It's fairly isolated, but there is good diving nearby and a scuba center in the hotel. Went to stonetown as well, but would recommend hiring a guide.
My wife and I spent a few days of our honeymoon at the Diamonds resort. It is a great resort in many ways. The grounds are beautiful. The staff is very attentive and friendly, but not overbearing. The beach and pool area themselves are fantastic. The resort was pretty full while we were there, but there's so much space that it did not feel at all crowded. There are plenty of nice bar areas and lounges to have coffee or drinks as well. The food is also decent for an all inclusive resort, as long as your expectations are reasonable. All that said, the resort is extremely expensive, and there were some problems that were not insignificant. On two of our five nights, music was blasting from the beach area and from the neighboring hotel until past 3 a.m., and so was so loud we had difficulty sleeping (and our room was on the third level, the furthest from the beach). We also had a difficult time communicating with the front desk on multiple occasions where we needed laundry service, additional toiletries, towels, or ice. The desk would either not answer the phone at all, or would answer but not be responsive and would require us to call multiple times to restate our requests. And for what we paid, I wasn't terribly impressed with the room itself. For example, our bed was two twins pushed together, and the bedding was generally subpar. Finally, the "fitness center" was dilapidated. Overall a nice resort, but we were expecting a lot more based on the price.
