Amazingly beautiful hotel, terrible service

Posted Mar 2, 2014
Pros: Beautiful location and amenities. Beach is amazing !!
Cons: Everything: check-in, service, professionalism. Food and drinks were particularly terrible
Location: Diving, beach swimming
We were made to wait for 1.5 hrs well after the listed check in time, did not get the beach view room as booked, staff friendly but service disappointing. Food terrible, drinks dismal, could not get running water in the shower.. The manager claimed the expedia terms listed were incorrect !! we were refused a 2hr late checkout and had to cancel a booked massage. The only service that occurred on time was a bellman appearing at 10:15am asking to carry our luggage since it was check out time. It appeared since we were not part of a large group (which seemed the target client group, the staff nor the manager to whom we spoke to twice, did not see any reason to address our complaints). For $350/night this is a steal, just not for the guest.. I travel every year to Tanzania and this is clearly an exception. We subsequently stayed at the Dhow palace hotel in Stone town which was amazing in every aspect, as well as the Sea Cliff hotel in Dar es Salam

Beautiful Resort on a quiet section of beach.

Posted Oct 23, 2013
Pros: Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the food was varied and delicious.
Cons: I can't think of anything to improve on.
The Resort grounds are exquisitely maintained, the housekeeping staff is friendly and professional, the food was amazing, and the beach was worth the trip.

Great hotel in fabulous location

Posted Jun 5, 2013
Pros: location, staff
Cons: nothing
Location: wonderful views from rooms and from the pool area.
We had requested two beds when booking, on arrival only one bed in room-they did then provide another occasional bed!not sure why when hotel is quiet and twin rooms must be available. Staff fabulous nothing was too much bother.WIFI was problematic. Hotel was being updated for the new season but this did not affect our enjoyment of our stay. Watch out for the 9% credit card fee!!! when paying your bill. Beach beautiful.
