Hotel Palafox is an Elegant Choice in Zaragoza
Hotel Palafox proved to be a delightful choice in central Zaragoza, and one which we would recommend highly. Located on a short, quiet street, it is only a few minutes’ walk to busy commercial areas with numerous shops and restaurants. For example, the Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar, perhaps the best known tourist destination in Zaragoza, is just a pleasant 15- or 20-minute walk away. The staff are professional and accommodating, while our room was spacious and warm. Likewise, the on-site restaurant, Aragonia, served delicious dishes in an elegant setting — we liked it so much that we ate dinner there two of our three nights in the the city. We also ate in the well appointed bar and were very happy with our experience. In short, Hotel Palafox is an excellent choice for travelers who want to pamper themselves in Zaragoza.

This is an OLD hotel with too much of everything in the room. I would clean the room out of wood, curtains and all the ugly stuff around the room. Food is great and service is good. But hotel needs renovation.

Wonderful surprise for a last minute one night stay. Cool older hotel with very nice upgrades. One of the best rain showers ever! Super friendly staff. Terrific value for the money.

Quiet location, except for the Easter parade :-) Convenient location to walk the old town. Staff generally friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable but no views from the hotel. Pool wasn't open which was disappointing but probably too early in the season for the Spanish.

Wonderful hotel with very comfortable rooms and excellent staff. Everyone I interacted with was courteous and helpful. And the hotel itself is close to everything. I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is good and has a great old vibe restaurant is amazing and personal super friendly; but it is a little tired, the carpets even if they are Clean they look so old, the courtains at least in my room where in very poor condition as well a the furniture.

The design of the hotel is lovely and the bed was amazingly comfortable, in a very quiet room. However there was a lot that was wrong that made my stay disappointing. The pool and deck was closed even though it was very warm outside for all the days I was there. The gym and sauna are very tacky looking with terrible wall art. The room had no tea or coffee facilities. The carpets where worn. The shower was in the bath and leaked everwhere. The one tap handle was broken. And the bath plug didn't close properly. There was also mold in the corners and in the tiles. The wallpaper in the room was coming off the walls. A very disappointing stay for a 5 star hotel. I went on to stay in a 4 star hotel and that was a much better stay with better amenities, and an open pool even though the weather was cooler.

Used to be a 5-Star hotel
The hotel may have been 5-Stars a number of years ago, but it has stayed in the 20th century and needs a lot of refurbishment. The furniture was comfortable, but very dated. The room was darkly lit (one of the lights was totally out with no one to repair it on a Sunday). The heating did not work (only cold air coming out of the vent) so we had to turn it off completely. It couldn't be repaired until Monday, the day we left.

It's an older style place that has a lot of Spanish charm. However, because it calls itself a five star hotel, you are left a little bewildered because it doesn't compare to other five star hotels. The staff is friendly and helpful. And the area is very quiet. The suite we had enough room, but was definitely old style and could use a new face. But for being in the middle of a relatively quiet city, you have to adjust your expectations.

Good location near the old town. The rooms are dated but nice enough and fairly comfortable. Front desk staff were helpful. The pool is very basic and the water was really cold. We paid extra for breakfast and it was a big mistake. The food was not good enough for what we paid. Very small hot food section and all the food that was supposed to be hot, was cold. The food was not being replinished and what was there, just didn’t taste good. We had to go in to town and get a proper breakfast. Glad we only stayed one night.

Very good check in, took care of the parking of the car for us, great help - The room was smaller than you would expect for a Superior room and very dark, quite clostrophobic, but the rest of the Hotel was charming

Great time in Zaragoza!
Great place to stay. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel is just less than a block from the Center of town. Our room bathroom needs some work and remodeling

Definitely not the experience I expected from a 5-star hotel. Room was extremely hot because the cooling was turned off due to it being cold outside and only the heater was available. I understand it’s cold outside but that doesn’t mean it’s going to be cold inside. My room was so hot my family and I were sweating and couldn’t sleep. I called the front desk and they said sorry only heater is available, but you can open the windows and sleep like that. Sleeping with windows open and hot in a 5-star hotel??!! This is unheard of. I opened the windows and there is a casino outside with screaming and fighting throughout the night and both of my toddlers could not sleep and were sweating. That was my only problem but it was enough to ruin my two nights with no help from the staff.

Nice hotel close to center & far away to be quiet
A Zaragosa two day visit from Barcelona. Worthwhile city to visit. Hotel nice, rooms large, due to time of year roof top pool was closed, hotel was within half a mile of were the Zaragosa night life is, and within mile of main plaza, easy walking.

Fiesta del Pilar
Hotel is very nice but needs some updating specially in the carpets. It's very well located in the center of the city, easy walking to most places and lots of restaurants and bars in very close proximity. Would stay there again.

Nice property but dated rooms
The hotel took away the electricity from 1-6am and the heat inthe room was terrible. We could barely sleep all night. The management failed to warn us and we could not rest properly. The rooms are large, but quite dated-centrally located in a quite area.
