“Best value in Zermatt!”

My wife and I were very very pleasantly surprised. Zermatt was very expensive when looking at properties and we chose Phoenix based on price and had very low expectations. When we arrived we found a brand new property with a very nicely finished and equiped room. Our balcony had an awesome view of the Matterhorn and overlooked the town of Zermatt. It was only about 1/2 mile from the train station situated on a beautiful walk down the river cutting through the center of town. For skiers, it had an awesome storage room with heated boot warmers. The host was extremely friendly and also doubled as bartender in a well equiped bar in the lobby. I would highly recommend the property and I stay over 200 nights a year in hotels - primarily Hyatts and Marriotts.

“This hotel is a gem!”

This was a beautiful hotel if you like the clean, stylish, and very modern look of the place instead of the typical Swiss gingerbread look. There was also a magnificent view of the Matterhorn from my terrace. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. I happened to be there on my birthday and the woman who checked me in remembered from when I provided my birth date at check in and wished me a "happpy birthday". Now that is personalized service! They also recommended a couple of restaurants which were both excellent. I will definitely stay there again the next time I go to Zermatt.

“Room with a Matterhorn View”

The Hotel Phoenix is a brand new 5 story hotel that blends modern with rustic. All fixtures and room comforts were top notch, complemented further by a friendly staff. The biggest surprise were the two balconies that we had, one of which offered a direct view of the Matterhorn. Absolutely amazing to wake up with the mountain in the window. The hotel is also less than 5 mintues from both train stations in Zermatt... for the Glacier Express and for the Gornergratbahn. Breakfast was top notch and was included. We would definitely stay again.

“Wish all hotels were like this one.”

What a pleasant surprise this hotel was. Recently renovated and thoroughly modern. We stayed in a single room which was quite large. A round living room area with floor to ceiling windows presented a spectacular view of the Matterhorn

“Great Hotel in Zermatt”

The Phoenix was perfect for us. We're a young couple. It has modern decor that still feels a bit Swiss. The comforters, flat screen TV and huge closets were awesome. Daily breakfast is tasty and filling enough for a day of hiking etc. Location is good - although location doesn't matter much in Zermatt b/c its so small. Highly recommend staying here. Immaculately clean too. Don't see how you couldn't like it.

“Wonderful new hotel - great bargain!”

We enjoyed our stay here very much, and the rates were a very good deal. The hotel opened just last year, and they have many energy-saving features. We were welcomed and serviced by a very friendly and helpful staff. We enjoyed the wine bar/fireplace room; the daily breakfast buffet was great, and our room had a spectacular view of the Matterhorn from the balcony (4th floor). Would definitely stay here again. Only complaint was the room was a bit warm w/no temp control, so we kept a window open a bit for sleeping. Shower/bath was awesome! Construction/decor is first rate.

“Our Best Hotel Experience... Ever”

Stayng in Zermatt was unbelievable, and the Hotel Phoenix took it to the next level. This is an amazing hotel, designed from floor to ceiling with energy conservation, efficiency, and comfort in mind. The owner, Joseph, and his incredible staff stopped at nothing to make us feel welcome and at ease. They ferried us to and from the train station, gave us advice on which ski runs to try, made our dinner reservations for us, and provided an incredible breakfast buffet. It was beyond all expectation. Not to mention the amazing view of the Matterhorn that we had even while lying in bed. We can't wait to get back to the Phoenix and Zermatt!

“A Great Hotel Experience in Zermatt”

The owner and staff at the Phoenix were very helpful, friendly and respectful. The hotel is warm, cheery and exceptionally clean. The views of the surrounding mountains (including the Matterhorn) are great from most all rooms. The use of real stone and wood helps this modern and new hotel blend in with the mountains, town and peaceful local neighborhood. They provided a wonderful Swiss style breakfast in their spacious and bright dinning area and the coffee/cappuccino machine made the best hot drinks you can imagine. They have a small but well stocked bar in the lounge which has a cozy atmosphere complete with comfortable seating and a fireplace. We just hope no-one ever builds on the lot behind the hotel which would spoil the wonderful views.
