Not even close to the best choice for the area

Posted May 25, 2015
Pros: The proximity to Zion National park was fairly good.
Cons: The place needs updating. The linens and furniture are uncomfortable.
Location: Hiking, back-packing, camping
The beds were lumpy, the roll-out bed was pee-stained and stored outdoors. The large wooden furniture killed a lot of the space. The room was noisy and let a lot of light in. The restaurant didn't have much of the menu items and the food it served wasn't tasty or well prepared.

Great location for Zion

Posted May 15, 2015
Location: The location was perfect for accessing Zion Canyon and the National Park. The shuttle buses were very efficient.
Reception staff was excellent. The Lodge was under renovation, inside and out, when we checked in. Our room had been redone and was satisfactory.

Clear & comfortable

We stayed at the Pioneer for 7 days. The hotel is very well located; walking distance to great restaurant, grocery, laundry and boutique. The view of the mountain was great. We stayed in room 218, which was the last one in the second floor. Great that we didn't have neighbors but noisy pool people. The pool canapy made a lot of noise during the night with the high wind. Front desk staff lack friendliness. We had to ask for soap and a few other thing and we felt we were bothering them. The front cafe was in renovation when we visited but looked great when we left. Overall an enjoyable experience. And by the way the Pioneer restaurant is very good, for breakfast or dinner.

Good place to stay while visiting Zion.

Pioneer Lodge is just a mile from Zion's entrance and less than a hundred feet from the nearest free shuttle stop. It's location is great and convenient. I parked my car when I checked in and didn't need to use it till I left. It was a bit expensive for being a small motel but compared to the other places in Springdale, this is great. The room itself was comfortable with a rustic theme complete with log bed frame, table and closet. You still have modern amenities like a fridge and microwave in the kitchenette. I had a great stay and would recommend it to anybody visiting Zion.

Nice, clean, and quiet. Rooms aren't huge, but they are sufficient. Lots of restaurant near by.

Lovely little hotel in great location

This is a lovely hotel - nothing fancy, but comfortable and cute, right in the midst of the fun in Springdale and an easy walk, drive, or shuttle ride from the park.
