“Modern but simple with clueless service”

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights arriving on Saturday afternoon and leaving on Monday morning. It is a nice, clean and modern as Holliday Inn can be. The breakfast is very expensive but there are plenty small places around where one can eat at half price if not on a corporate budget and care little about meal prices. The staff is very polite but completely clueless in the surrounding area and advising about the city. We had a car and were advised to park in the hotel’s garage at 19 CH per night even though the parking on the streets is free from 4pm Sat till 8 am Mon. Also we were told that the tram and train stations that go to the airport and city center are in the walking distance. Indeed they are but a bit inconvenient to drag the heavy luggage to and the public transportation tickets are VERY expensive and it is easy to find a free parking in the city on Sat and Sun. The stuff advised that it is very expensive, with a nice smile however. Overall, if you are on a business trip and budget, it is an OK hotel, otherwise if you can find something else even at $35-40 more expensive but in the walking distance to the center, better do that.

“Impressive Holiday Inn in Zurich”

Holiday Inn Zurich Messe is way good over my expectation. I used to go to Zurich every 2 years and so used to the old fashion home-style hotel... when I searched for hotel this year, I found Holiday Inn Zurich Messe and read about their good comments. When we arrived at the hotel 10am in the morning from Hong Kong, we were greeted by the super nice reception staff, well spoken in English, plus a cute "smily face" candy as a welcome gift. As requested, they allowed us to check-in early in the morning; we appreciated so much as we need to prepare for our business meeting in the afternoon. When we walked into our room, we were impressed by the good conditions and size of the room with a welcome message on the LCD Flat Screen TV - that was super touching :) We also saw that there were several choices of the pillow available and bathroom amenities available from the housekeeping; the most important is the free wireless internet~~ By the way, my sister said the body-lotion is very good and creamy :) The only bad experience was the Taxi which we asked the hotel reception to call for us for urgency to airport; the price is TOO EXPENSIVE as the driver told me there are extra costs for driving to the hotel for pickup plus the 10mins of waiting time - costing CHF 55.00 (the receiption did not tell me there would be additional costs for the taxi to wait). In general, the hotel is good and shall recommend to everyone :)
