Perfectly boutiquePosted Oct 15, 2014
Location: It's in a good location... about 7 minute walk to the shops/restaurants in Old Town, and 10 minutes to either the Promenade or Bahnhofstrasse.
Plattenhoff has exactly the right feel for a boutique hotel. Comfortable, understated, but very charming. The staff were accommodating, and it has a lovely restaurant (Sento) with a nice breakfast offering.

Nice hotel, but beware of smokePosted Sep 27, 2014
Pros: Clean rooms, comfy bed - but didn't like it being so low down.
Cons: Keep smoke out of rooms! Tea and coffee in room.
Location: Good location close to uni and old town.
The room was lovely and clean. Bed on floor less than ideal. For me the big problem was that despite the room being designated no smoking the room smelt very badly of smoke because the window opened on to a courtyard where people smoked. My dreams were filled with nightmares asking people to stop smoking - to no avail. So, if like me you really hate to smell smoke ask to avoid the rooms opening onto the courtyard. The staff were lovely and helpful.

Lovely Hotel Close to City CentrePosted Sep 5, 2014
Pros: Location, style, size.
Small hotel in lovely area beside the university. 10 minute walk and you are in the old town. Staff so helpful and friendly. Good value given the hotel prices in Zurich. Rooms very nice and clean. Easy to get to tram stop for airport.

CONVENIENT LOCATIONPosted Aug 3, 2014
Pros: friendly staff, good service, excellent location ...
Location: excellent location, opp mini supermarket, very close to tram station to get to town centre, most beautiful part is the lake zurich .
Very easy to get to only 40 mins from the airport on the tram. you can ask the info desk at the airport & they will guide you. the hotel itself is only about 3 mins walk away from the tram station & very easy to find. staff are very friendly & helpful. the rooms are very comfortable & have everything that you need. opp the hotel you have a mini supermarket which is quite handy for your needs & you are about 20 mins walk away from lake zurich . i strongly recommend this hotel to any type of traveller ...

Did the JobPosted Jul 31, 2014 on Hotels.com
Competitive price for Switzerland, helped with kettle( for early morning tea) m and good Gluten free options at breakfast. In university area so quite as not in term time, but might be busier in term time. Easy walk into town and short jog to Iron Man course if you are watching that. No free parking, but find a white space and you are ok for the evening and weekends.

Nice hotel, friendly staff.Posted Jul 4, 2014
Pros: Nice staff, comfortable bed, nice bathroom, everything seemed new.
Location: Near Platte tram stop on the way to the zoo.
This is a nice little hotel near the Platte tram stop. From Zurich Hbf you can just take tram #6 towards the zoo to get there. This room had a large nice bathroom, but the main part of the room would be considered small by American standards yet it was big enough to be comfortable. The bed was very comfortable and I liked how quickly the room filled with fresh air when I opened the windows. The bathroom had a window that could be opened which is something I always appreciate. The staff was extremely friendly.
