Good location, Hotel Needs Renovations

Posted May 21, 2014
Pros: Good location.
Cons: Everything.
Location: Good location.
The hotel is in a good location, the paint on the walls around the elevator apparently peeled so they put navy gray paint around the peeling (the walls are a pinkish). The place is in need of updating a renovation. The bar downstairs is noisy. You can hear the noise from your room. The lady running the place seems nice.

Conveniently, centrally located.

Posted Sep 27, 2013
Pros: How convenient it was for me to get around the city.
Cons: They could definitely replace the badly torn venetian blinds.
Location: It was centrally located...many fine restaurants and sights to see nearby. The trams were only a short distance away.
I found the staff to be very courteous, and helpful.

Cheap and Cheerful in Zurich

Posted Dec 20, 2012
This is a cheap hotel – for Zurich that is – and you get what you pay for. The rooms are OK with a small fridge and small TV. There is good and free WiFi coverage. In general the hotel is clean and surprisingly quite considering that there is a bar down stairs (which does not play music). Breakfast is a basic continental style breakfast served in the bar. The bathrooms are shared with a separate toilet and bathroom per floor, each floor having three rooms. The staff was very friendly and spoke very good English. It reminded me of hostels I had used in my youth and I would happily return. But my preference is always to save on the room and spend on the food as I never spend much time in the room. If you do want to spend time in the room this is probably not the place for you.

A seriously weird experience

Posted Oct 8, 2010
This is best described as a few rooms over a bar with cigarette smoke pervading the whole building. The room was small, poorly equipped and generally a rather unpleasant experience. Location is difficult with steep cobbled streets to negotiate. Not somewhere I'd be inclined to recommend to anyone but a backpacker.
