Royal Caribbean at a Glance
Royal Caribbean at a Glance
* Royal Caribbean’s legacy of playful innovation serves as the driving force for industry firsts including at-sea rock-climbing walls, ice-skating rinks, and surf simulators. The line also holds the distinction of debuting a Royal Promenade, the Viking Crown Lounge, and the first trans-fat-free dining menu.
* Delivering the best possible vacation experience to guests defines the philosophy of Royal Caribbean cruise line. Whether it’s a warm greeting and smile or delivering the “wow” factor, Royal Caribbean strives to make all aspects of the customer experience positive.
* Notable honors for the line include recognition from Conde Nast Traveler, Celebrated Living, Travel Weekly, Porthole Cruise Magazine, and Southern Living. Royal Caribbean also received the Travel Industry Association’s Odyssey Award in 2007.

Onboard Atmosphere
Onboard Atmosphere While each vessel class varies, standard amenities onboard Royal Caribbean ships include nightly entertainment, 24-hour food options, stateroom accommodations, as well as daytime children’s programs, many private island activities, and fitness center facilities.

With traditional main dining rooms, themed alternative restaurants, and casual buffets (in addition to the popular Johnny Rockets hamburger chain on many ships), dining options cater to a large cross section of passengers.

Entertainment options run the gamut from casino gaming action to lavish Vegas-style shows with in-house trained production staff. Sports and spa offerings include fully equipped fitness centers, spa treatments, and a vitality program with healthy menu choices, seminars, and tools to promote wellness while on vacation.

The line’s extensive kids and teens programming represents all age groups with choices including Fisher-Price play groups, teen dance clubs, and craft-making sessions, among others.

And, when it’s time to retire at the end of the cruising day, cabins offer all the creature comforts including televisions, telephones, and private bathrooms.

Fellow Passengers
Fellow Passengers Stemming from the idea that everybody should cruise, Royal Caribbean offers options for active vacationers as well as those who simply want to do “nothing” while on vacation. Royal Caribbean’s wide-ranging customer base encompasses groups ranging from first-time cruisers to loyal repeat cruisers. Families, singles, retirees, and honeymooners are also well represented. The line draws mostly North American passengers, with the majority in the 30–55 age range; for the line’s Mediterranean itineraries, European cruisers encompass a large portion of the passenger base as well.

Explore the Ships
The Royal Caribbean fleet of more than 20 vessels sails to world destinations from some 100 ports of call. With five classes of ships each offering innovative onboard features—such as the first-ever shipboard surf park—the line cultivates a broad appeal among new and seasoned cruisers.
