About Norwegian Cruise Line
About Norwegian Cruise Line With a history of innovation, Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) offers passengers independence from traditional cruise conventions through their signature Freestyle Cruising philosophy. NCL’s “go-your-own-way” approach to cruising translates into flexibility in nearly all aspects of travel onboard one of Norwegian’s ships—from freedom in dining to relaxed disembarkation, the line prides itself on providing travelers a liberating cruising experience.

Norwegian Cruise Line at a Glance
Norwegian Cruise Line at a Glance
*  NCL’s rich history of innovation has led to industry firsts such as the first Caribbean cruise, the first line to have a private island, the first to offer an alternative restaurant, and the first to include an onboard Internet café, among many others.
*  The line’s Freestyle Cruising philosophy allows for a customer experience different from that of conventional cruise lines—guests dine as they like (where they want, when they want, and with whomever they want), dress elegantly or casual, and leisurely disembark the ship. Passengers may also opt for traditional-style cruising if they wish.
*  Aside from having the youngest fleet in the industry, first bowling alley at sea, and signature Freestyle Cruising program, NCL has also been honored for its ships and Freestyle program by publishers including Family Circle and Conde Nast.

Onboard Atmosphere
Onboard Atmosphere Norwegian’s Freestyle Dining concept allows passengers to dine where they like—from surf and turf venues to unique eateries with “action” stations. And all ships offer relaxed dress codes, therefore, it’s not uncommon to see passengers in suits mingling with those wearing resort casual attire.

The line’s recreation options are plentiful and practical. Fitness amenities include pools, jogging tracks, sports courts, and well-equipped fitness centers—open round the clock. The onboard Mandara Spas feature rejuvenation treatments, often at discounted rates.

Youth activities are staffed by professional counselors and coordinated by age group. Kid-friendly choices include arcade games, enrichment programs, discos, and teen hangouts—in addition to the bowling alleys and Wii stations offered on some of the line’s ships.

Entertainment onboard NCL ships ranges from lavish Broadway-style productions in the show lounges to art auctions and port lectures. Other attractions include casinos, card rooms, a two-story high Nintendo Wii LED screen, and boutique shopping. Live music entertains passengers well past the midnight hour at the ships’ bars.

In true Freestyle spirit, accommodations on the ships are designed to cater to a range of customer needs—whether it’s adjoining staterooms for families or NCL’s “ship within a ship” concept with private courtyard and garden villas with special entries and concierge services for the luxury sector. And almost half of NCL’s staterooms offer balconies.

Fellow Passengers
Fellow Passengers NCL is tailor-made for travelers seeking a customizable, flexible cruising experience. The line has a broad appeal, thus, the customer base reflects a range of lifestyles and mindsets—from affluent cruisers attracted to the exclusivity of private villas to adventurists seeking a playground of activities. Offering flexibility in dining options, accommodations, and activities, NCL is well-suited for those who value freedom of choice in their cruising experience.

Explore the Ships
With its fleet of 12 (and growing) ships and numerous vessel classes—including the “third generation” Freestyle Cruising vessels, the F3 class—NCL offers the youngest fleet among all major North American cruise lines. The line, founded in 1966, has also carved a niche for itself in homeland cruising, sailing from more than 10 continental U.S. home ports to all major international cruise destinations.
