RSS Customer Support

Frequently asked questions about Expedia RSS (beta)

  1. What does "beta" mean?

It just means that we're still in the process of building this feature, so what you see may be a little rough around the edges. Over the next few months, we will be adding more cities and working to support additional RSS readers.

  2. I am wary of beta products. Is there any risk to using this one?

None at all. If you ever decide you want to stop receiving deals, simply delete the section from your personalized homepage.

  3. Why don't I see my departure city and/or destination city listed?

We started with our most-traveled routes and destinations, but we will be adding new cities as we continue to improve the feature. Please check back soon.

  4. I'm having problems getting my deals to display correctly on My Yahoo. What's going on?

Some users have reported that the title of their deals section isn't displaying when they first subscribe. This problem will resolve itself in about a day. Other users have reported that Yahoo will give an error when they first click to subscribe. Hitting refresh will fix this problem.

  5. I'm having problems with an RSS reader other than those specified on the subscription page.

We currently support only the readers displayed on the subscription page. However, we are interested in supporting as many readers as possible; please send us feedback with information about your reader, and we will try to support it in the future.

  6. Why don't I see any deals listed on my personalized homepage today?

Depending on the routes/destinations you specified, there may not be any especially good deals to offer you. New deals come in daily, though, so check back tomorrow.

  7. I'm seeing a strange error message when I try to subscribe to a deals feed. What does it mean?

Please send us feedback with information about your error and we will investigate.

  8. When I click on the deal, it says that it is no longer valid. Why?

Our deals are generated frequently, but your RSS reader may be displaying older content, so the deal may have already expired. Try refreshing your feed to get the most current deals.
