Getting there
The Islands of the Bahamas are accessible by air, cruise, or chartered boat. There are approximately 57 airports throughout, as well as countless government and private marinas. By air, it’s a mere 2 1/2 hours from New York City and a half-hour from South Florida.
Other tips
The climate is warm year round. Casual summer wear can be worn, although beach clothing is inappropriate on streets, in churches, restaurants, and casinos. The Bahamian dollar (B$1) is on par with the American dollar (US$1); both currencies can be used interchangeably throughout the islands.
