Change or cancel for any reason
Please note that the waiver price is per hotel room and the activities waiver coverage shall apply to the registered guests staying in the hotel room for which the waiver is purchased, to a maximum of 6 guests per hotel room reservation.
Please note: This waiver only covers eligible hotel reservations and/or covered Activities purchased through Expedia. It excludes cancellation penalties associated with:
- Vacation packages, airline tickets or car rentals
- The Expedia Package Protection Plan
- The cost of the waiver fee itself
The waiver price is per hotel room and the activities and services coverage shall apply to the registered guests staying in the hotel room for which the waiver is purchased, to a maximum of 6 guests per hotel room reservation. Please purchase one waiver per hotel room reservation. The waiver must be purchased along with the eligible hotel reservation and/or covered Activities and cannot be purchased separately. Expedia cancellation penalty waivers must be purchased at the time of booking; waivers cannot be purchased after booking. Waiver excludes the Travel Insurance. It may exclude some events, such as sporting events, Broadway performances, and all Musical Shows and Cabaret Shows which are non-refundable.
After purchasing an Expedia Hotel & Activities Cancellation Penalty Waiver, you will be asked to print the waiver policy in voucher format. Please print the voucher and keep it handy for your reference. You can also access your waiver information from the voucher in your online itinerary once your booking is confirmed.

What does the Expedia Hotel & Activity Cancellation Penalty Waiver provide?
The Expedia Hotel & Activity Cancellation Penalty Waiver works prior to your trip, eliminating any fees associated with canceling your hotel reservations and/or activities booked on Expedia. With this waiver, you’re able to change or cancel your trip for any reason at all, one time, if you call at least two days before your check-in date.

How do I get in the Expedia Hotel & Activity Cancellation Penalty Waiver?
The Expedia Hotel & Activity Cancellation Penalty Waiver must be booked at the same time you book your hotel. When booking online, add it to your transaction during the checkout process. If you’re booking over the phone, simply talk with your agent. Currently, this waiver is unavailable when you’re only booking an activity. You can’t book a Expedia Hotel & Activity Cancellation Penalty Waiver after you’ve already booked your hotel.
When does the waiver go into effect and will provide any coverage for the entire length of my vacation?
Your waiver goes into effect as soon as you’ve booked the plan. Waiver lasts until 12:00 PM (noon) Pacific Time, two days prior to your scheduled hotel check-in date.
I am not a U.S. or Canadian resident; can I book the waiver?
Yes! This waiver is open to anyone booking a hotel on Expedia regardless of your country of residence.

What happens if I need to cancel my hotel or activity?
Please call Expedia at 1-800-Expedia (1-800-397-3342) as soon as possible and no later than 12 PM Pacific Time two days prior to your scheduled check-in to request a refund. You’ll be reimbursed almost immediately for the cost of your travel.

Call Expedia 1-800-Expedia (1-800-397-3342) to request a refund. Please note, the waiver is valid for redemption only by the person(s) named on the voucher. It is not transferable, has no cash value, and may be redeemed only once.

All Expedia Special Rate Hotels are included in this plan. The waiver excludes cancellation penalties associated with vacation packages, airline tickets, or car rentals, or the cost of the waiver itself.
