Bridgetown's Broad Street is the downtown shopping area. At the Cruise Ship Terminal shopping arcade, passengers can buy both duty-free goods and Barbadian-made crafts at more than 30 boutiques and a dozen vendor carts and stalls. DaCostas Mall, in the historic Colonnade Building on Broad Street, has more than 25 shops that sell everything from Piaget to postcards. Across the street from the DaCostas Mall, Mall 34 has 22 shops where you can buy duty-free goods, souvenirs, and snacks.
Holetown and St. Lawrence Gap each have a Chattel House Village, a cluster of brightly colored shops selling local products, fashions, beachwear, and souvenirs. Sunset Crest, in Holetown, has a branch of the Cave Shepherd department store, a bank, a pharmacy, and several small shops. In Holetown's West Coast Mall, you can find duty-free goods, island wear, services, and groceries. The Quayside Shopping Center, in Rockley, Christ Church, houses a small group of boutiques.
Duty-free luxury goods -- china, crystal, cameras, porcelain, leather items, electronics, jewelry, perfume, and clothing -- are found in Bridgetown's Broad Street department stores and their branches, at the Cruise Ship Terminal shops (for passengers only), and in the departure lounge shops at Grantley Adams International Airport. Prices are often 30% to 40% less than at home. To buy goods at duty-free prices, you must produce your outbound travel ticket and passport at the time of purchase -- or you can have your purchases delivered free to the airport or harbor for pickup. Duty-free alcohol, tobacco products, and some electronic equipment must be delivered to you at the airport or harbor.
