Best time to visit Italy
Like most of Western Europe, early spring and fall are the ideal times to explore Italy. Northern Italy blooms in spring, while Southern Italy offers warm weather and smaller crowds in September.
Peak Season: Summer is Italy's busiest season, and many shops and restaurants close in late August as Italians go on holiday. Christmas, Easter, and other religious holidays mean big crowds and higher rates in Rome.
Value Season: Fall and early spring offer better travel deals on airfare and hotel. The weather can be a bit cooler, but there are fewer crowds, so you'll have more time to enjoy the wonders of Italy
