Locals show up at Teshima's whenever they're in the mood for sashimi, beef hekka (beef and vegetables cooked together in an iron pot), and puffy shrimp tempura at a reasonable price. You might also want to try a teishoku (tray) of assorted Japanese delicacies. Service is laid-back and friendly. The restaurant is 15 minutes south of Kailua-Kona.
