By day, this bakery in the Kahala Mall serves deli food, but five nights a week it turns into a 24-seat restaurant with great German food, a rarity in Hawai'i. The menu is small -- only 10 entrées -- but any choice is a good one. The Wiener schnitzel is juicy within its crispy crust, and veal ribs are garnished with a sprig of rosemary. Try the potato pancakes, crisp outside and soft inside, joined by a healthy spoonful of applesauce. Reservations not accepted.
