Duke's Canoe Club
Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach, 2335 Kalakaua Ave., Waikiki, Honolulu, HI, USA

Phone 808/922-2268

This casual beachfront eatery, named after Hawai'i's famous surfer Duke Kahanamoku, is usually crowded (reserve ahead or you'll probably have to wait for a table). Lunchtime is lively, and on the weekend the restaurant hosts sunset concerts on the beach on its outdoor terrace. Fish can be served up Duke's style: baked in a garlic, lemon, and sweet basil glaze to keep it tender and moist. Other Duke's specialties include macadamia-and-crab wontons and the decadent Hula Pie. Reservations essential.
