Prices are for a main course at dinner.
Although most Sydney restaurants are licensed to serve alcohol, the few that aren't usually allow you to bring your own bottle (BYOB). Reservations are generally required with a few noticeable exceptions where no bookings at all are taken. Lunch is most often served between noon and 2:30, and dinner is served, usually in a single sitting, between 7 and 10:30. The 10% General Sales Tax is already incorporated in the prices, and a 10% tip is customary. You may pay a corkage fee in BYOB restaurants and some may add a small service surcharge on weekends and holidays. Under the NSW Smoke-Free Environment Act, smoking is prohibited inside all restaurants throughout the state.
