As the Capitol Hill area has become gentrified, unique shops and boutiques have sprung up, many clustered around the redbrick structure of Eastern Market. Inside are produce and meat counters, plus the Market Five art gallery; outside are a farmers' market (on Saturday) and a flea market (on weekends). Along 7th Street you'll find a number of small shops, selling everything from art books to handwoven rugs to antiques and knickknacks. Metro: Eastern Market, Union Station, or Capitol South.
