Shinsegae Centum City

Pull on ice skates, practice your golf swing or slip into a spa at the world’s largest department store. You’ll find great shopping and dining too, of course.

Shinsegae means “new world,” an appropriate description for this 14-floor, all-encompassing department store. Officially the largest department store in the world, Shinsegae Centum City offers the hottest brands, the finest foods and numerous entertainment and relaxation options.

Nine floors of shopping guarantee that you’ll find what you’re looking for. Browse the luxury boutiques on the first floor for the latest high-fashion offerings from Gucci, Prada and Chanel. Check out the fifth-floor Kyobo Book Store, Korea’s largest book-selling chain. At the basement grocery store, buy gourmet foods from around the world.

Shinsegae Centum City’s sporting facilities alone are worth the trip. An enormous ice rink has a 500-skater capacity and a warehouse-like driving range is the perfect place to improve your golf swing. Afterward, cool off in the grassy rooftop park, which offers beautiful views of the Nakdong River.

Make a reservation at Shinsegae Centum City Spaland for an iconic Korean experience. Korea is famous for the jimjilbang, or traditional spa, which typically includes saunas, hot tubs, entertainment facilities, sleeping quarters and a restaurant. Spaland contains 22 spas and 13 themed sauna rooms, including the “Roman sauna,” which recreates an ancient Roman bath.

The many food areas at Shinsegae Centum City are packed with Korean and Japanese specialties that are among the best in Busan. Explore the food court on the basement floor to sample from a wide variety of options, or get a table at one of the restaurants on the ninth floor.

Shinsegae Centum City is open every day of the year. The basement food court and grocery store stay open later than the other stores. There are fees to enter the spa, driving range or ice rink.

Parking is available in the basement parking garage or in the large lot in front of the store. A subway from Busan Station leads directly to a station connected to the mall. Shinsegae Centum City is also accessible via many bus lines.
