Leave Dublin behind and travel to the west coast for Ireland’s most dramatic scenery. Spend day 1 seeing the coastal highlights of Munster before arriving in Galway, your stop for the night. Connacht provides the landscape for day 2 as you complete your tour of Ireland’s Atlantic coastline.
Speed across Ireland by train as you head for Limerick, located on the banks of the River Shannon. Board the coach and embark on a tour of Ireland’s 2014 National City of Culture. Afterward, it’s on to 15th-century Bunratty Castle and neighboring Folk Park for a celebration of Irish heritage. Pause for some free time over lunch in the quaint village of Doolin.
In the afternoon, travel north via the inspiring Cliffs of Moher, a dramatic site where the Atlantic waves pound the majestic cliffs. Check in to your central Galway hotel and enjoy the charms of the city as evening takes hold.
On day 2, venture into Connemara and discover its breathtaking countryside of lakes and mountains. Kylemore Abbey is a highlight, with its picturesque location on the shores of a lake. Continue to Killary Harbor, one of only 3 fjords in Ireland, and admire the commanding views of the Twelve Bens mountains. Head back to Galway and pick up the train back to Dublin.
