Utah Lake State Park is a hot spot for locals and tourists during summer. It’s the largest freshwater lake in Utah and one of the largest in the West. The lake’s recorded history dates back to 1776 when a party of Spanish pioneers stumbled upon it. People had started to call it Utah Lake by the early 19th century. It took almost another 100 years before the marina was built, giving recreational boats easy access to the water and drawing in more tourists. The area opened as a state park in 1970.The calm waters offer perfect conditions for sailing, water skiing and fishing.
