Wont be back
Some employees were very nice, others were not. One woman at the desk wanted to negotiate the price of excursions. Room was big, beds ok, blankets rough. Bathrooms ceiling was falling down and had mildew. I think the new part of the hotel is probably nicer. Pool area is nice, but not enough umbrellas, and you have the daily fight for a chaise ritual to deal with.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
I know many people love the sights, sounds and smells of Marrakesh. For me and my kids, is was dirty, dangerous (no traffic lights, scooters in narrow pedestrian areas, etc) and polluted. Constant harrassment the moment you leave the hotel, EVERYONE is looking to hustle you, people touch you in the streets. I could go on and on. Go anywhere else.

Lovely grounds, a respite from the hustlers of Marrakesh
This hotel has a good location; one block from the Marrakesh hop-on hop-off sightseeing bus stop (recommended - a great way to see the city) and a long stroll past gardens and camels to the Djena Al Fna and souks (brace yourself while walking from the hotel for constant offers of cabs, horse carriage rides, and tour guides.) Breakfast is basic, but served in lovely gardens with birds that start singing about 5 a.m. Hotel staff are helpful and excursions can be arranged through the concierge. The Pergola restaurant inside the Kenza hotel was empty both nights we were there, but we gave it a try anyway--the Italian food was excellent, providing a nice break from tajines, and reasonably priced. Overall, a very nice hotel and pool, with staff who try very hard to insure one has good stay.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
If you take the Ourika Valley tour, you might ask the guide to drop the group for lunch in the village of Oulmes to eat by the riverside, rather than at the large tourist restaurant (it was good, but being outside by the river looked a lot more fun!)
