bad experience
upon arrival, could not get exterior room as per booking and desk clerk was not very pleasant. given room which was not even cleaned, i.e. floor not vacuumed, bathroom not cleaned. etc. next day was switched by different front desk clerk to much better room; too bad she wasn’t there when we arrived or review would be much more favorable.

Do NOT stay at the United Inn!
This hotel looked fine from the outside (although a little dingy), but once inside, things were vastly different. The first issue was the rude, inconsiderate, and inept service at the check-in desk. I stood for 10 minutes (I counted) with nobody else in line, while the desk clerk counted change into a cash drawer. When she finally checked us in, she was unwelcoming and "tossed" our keys at us. Once we found our room in the musty, dirty hallway, our key didn’t work. We walked back down and asked for another key. After an "eye roll" from the desk attendant, she gave us new keys. Again, the keys didn’t work. We went back down and she was clearly annoyed, but finally gave us a "master" key which worked. In our room, the toilet was filthy- literally a dirty ring in the bowl. The room was sweltering so we opened the door to the balcony to cool it off (the heater wouldn’t adjust). The next morning, there was absolutely NO hot water -- showers were impossible. As we were checking out, another guest was complaining that he had only scalding water in his room. The desk attendant (same one as when we checked in two nights earlier) was rude and non-responsive, stating, "Look, why don’t you go somewhere else instead of giving me a problem." This is an absolute disgrace of a hotel-- the worst service/place I’ve seen.
