Cant wait to go back to victoria
To be fair, I have stayed at the Empress, the Royal Scot and Days inn. If you want old world charm and dont mind the higher cost, you stay at the Empress. If you want to save some coin and get a nice comfortable room that is set up like an apartment (living room, kitchenette, dining room and bedroom) go to the Royal Scot. If you want cheap in more ways than one... Days inn. For our 13 years wedding anniversary my wife and I stayed at Days Inn. It is so convenient to the ferry and VIctoria Clipper as it is just across the street. The restaurant and the lounge have good food. The lobby is clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly but, the rooms need to be remodeled. The rooms are small and dont seem clean.
Hudson Bay company is a large three floor mall, many, many shops.

Best Bargain in Victoria!
We booked this hotel to show friends around Victoria, and couldnt have been happier. The view was wonderful of the inner harbor, and we had free parking on site, and were close enough to everything to walk from the hotel... very helpful as parking is limited around town. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and we found the restaurant food to be excellent. We had a free continental breakfast with the biggest scone we have ever seen! The rooms were smaller than newer hotels, but everything was very adequate and comfortable. We would recommend this hotel not only for its price, but convenience to all sites in town, and the beautiful view of the harbor.
Go in the Fall when the Butchart Gardens are aflame with the bright red, oranges, peaches, and beautiful greens, from chartruese to dark green, with a little red bridge in the Japanese gardens to set it all off. A photographers heaven!

Convenient location
Accommodations were good and fulfilled our nightly requirements. However, we did not care for the smelly trash bins and for them to be banged and rattled around underneath our window in the mornings.
