Good Hotel Lousy Service

I have stayed at this hotel before and have noticed that the serivce is becoming lousier Takes forever to check in They had 2 computers for internet access and of which one was always broken. The phones had buttons for operator, house keeping etc but the buttons did not work. No instructions on how to call from room to room or call the operator. They did have instructions on how to diasl out. When the front desk asked was asked for instructions was told that they might be in the safe . Couldnt find them. On the plus side clean rooms, excellent breakfast

Good... but

...gave us breakfast coupons and that made us think breakfast was included, and when paying the bill charged us (a little deceiving for us). Then that made us very unconfortable and after looking for those coupons not used they returned the corresponding money...

I arrived Hotel 6: 30 AM.

I ARRIVED THE HOTEL 6:30 AM AFTER DIFFICULT CAR JOURNEY. THEY LET ME SLEEP UNTIL 12:00 . IT WAS KIND. THE HOTEL ROOM WAS SUPER AND PERFECT , ALSO CAR PARK WAS IN EASYLY ACCESIBLE PLESANT PLACE. HIGE QUALITY HOTEL FOR THE PRICE.

Wish I would have picked Novotel in Malpensa also,

Wonderful place to stay if you dont’t want to stay in the crowds of Venice and reasonably priced. The front desk was always friendly and helpful. Restaurant was good for diner, but pricey.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

This hotel was very close to attractions without being overcrowded. they advertise a free shuttle to and from Venice. It is not free, but reasonably priced, with limited times. The public bus is just a short walk from the hotel and has more times.Also Mastre has nice shops, restaurants and wonderful outside taverns just a short walk from the hotel.Make arragements in advance with the desk for you trips back and forth to Venice. Last hotel bus leaves Venice at 7:30

Functional, far flung hotel, but not bad for the price

This hotel is very modern with minimalist decor. The overall atmosphere is rather cold. The room we had slept four people, but was very small once the extra sofa bed was opened. The bathroom had modern fixtures; it took a few minutes to figure out how to turn the water on in the sink with its contraption. A speaker in the bathroom could not be turned off, so having a quiet, relaxing shower was out of the question if another family member was watching TV. If you go to Venice with the hotel shuttle, which only operates a few times a day, make sure to find out exactly where the return shuttle will be waiting. The last shuttle to the hotel is about 8:45, so you may have to take a city bus.

Traveler's tip on dining

We tried to avoid the tourist spots, asking shop owners and museum employees for restaurant suggestions. This worked out pretty well. Less than a 15 minute walk from the hotel, in Mestre, is a good restaurant, Corte Sconta, which was recommended by a local. In Venice, don’t miss the Peggy Guggenheim Museum. It’s a small jewel of an art collection housed in Guggenheim’s palazzo. It’s a bit tricky to find, but worth the effort.

Good value

Away from the main island of Venice but a free hotel shuttle bus is available at fairly regular intervals. Also about a 10 minute walk to public buses.

Good price, Close to airport, easy travel to Venice

If you are going to Venice, this is the place to stay. Close to the airport. Take the bus or train to go to Venice. Taka taxi from the aiport to the hotel. Don’t haul your luggage through all venice.

Save $$$. Bus stop is within walking distance to go to Venice.

COMFORTABLE -COMMERCIAL HOTEL IN MESTRE

Hotel was nice,room was nice and comfortable. Location is not near Venice (20mins by bus) and is off of a major freeway. Nothing but a gas station nearby.Hotel is one where tour buses unload busloads of tourists so be prepared.Staff is not extremely helpful. They are usually overwhelmed with loads of tourists not speaking italian.

Take the bus to Venice from around the corner (10 min walk).

Great hotel, but location is not great

My husband and I stayed at the Novotel for 3 nights in May 2007. Everything about the hotel was great - clean and comfortable room, very friendly staff and good breakfast. They even accommodated my gluten-free diet. The only problem was the location. In retrospect, we should have done everything we could to find a descent hotel in Venice itself. It was little annoying to try to catch the bus into Mestre. The hotel runs a shuttle to and from Venice throughout the day, which we found very helpful in the mornings (but you need to reserve the shuttle in advance). However, their last shuttle from Venice would leave around 7:30pm, which we found to be way too early.
