A slightly less than satisfactory experience

We had a great room and the breakfast buffet was great, a good hot breakfast to start the day. Only one elevator was working and there wasn’t a sign up indicating that the other one was broken so we had to wait a long time as the working elevator stopped at each floor. There were no signs for the stairs anywhere so we couldn’t find them to use instead. The hotel restaurant wasn’t open and there was no room service so we had to go out for food. The hotel was a block away from downtown so great for walking, just a little sketchy since it overlooks a park under construction. I would probably stay here again if only for one night and just needed a place to sleep.

Good Location for business in Stamford. It will be better when all the road contstruction is done.

We got there late and checked out pretty early the next day, but it was clean and the staff was nice. They had a nice continental breakfast in the morning.

close to downtown. can walk to restaurants,etc area on the other side of hotel a little sketchy. good service and clean. would go back.

Your typical mid-grade hotel

Nothing flashy but adequate.We came in late and left early, so all we needed was a clean and comfortable bed and they provided that. There was no pool and a minimal workout room. I would characterize breakfast as below average. It was a no-frills experience, but there were no problems, either. They do have a covered parking garage.

Hotel okay

No complaints with this hotel; this is my third stay here and I find the hotel comfortable and in a very convenient location and the staff accommodating. My complaint is with the chain’s standard check-out time at 11:00 a.m. The amount of time you have the room for seems like it gets shorter and shorter all the time and the rates certainly don’t go down.

Very, very nice !!

The elevator was a little loud and the food could have been a little better.......but I’ll be back!! I forgot my phone charger in the room and no one ever called me about finding it.

Hotel is clean however receptionist was not so friendly.

Solid Choice

Hotel staff were excellent from the front desk to the rental car person in the lobby. The amenities were decent and as promised. Continental breakfast included "hot" choices. There were some indications the room wasn’t as clean as I would have liked, but I’m a self-admitted clean freak. Overall a solid choice for business travel.

We were extremely pleased with this hotel. It was spacious, clean, quiet and easily accessible. We will definately go back if in the area.

Family Trip

Had to go to Stamford for a Wedding. The Hampton had the best deal in the area on Expedia (or any other site) the Hotel was in nice condition, free breakfast every morning with eggs and sausage, bagels and muffins, not bad. Certain nights of the week there are planned social events for the guests. Free internet access and printing very helpful. Room was nice and roomy, bed very comfortable. Downtown is just a short walk away, but best if you do the walking in the day, can get very dark and not well lite at night. There are nice places to eat near by and Target is just down the street.

If you are willing to drive just 15 minutes toward Darien on main street there is a delicous and very inexpensive restaurant named Sergios they have great Greek and Italian food. Worth the drive.

Great option in NYC metro

This is a great affordable hotel in an otherwise very expensive area. Excellent staff, rooms are large and comfortable with a mini fridge and microwave. Service is absolutely excellent and there are pretty views across the street of river walk and downtown Stamford. Only downsides experienced are: no in-room laptop safe, and the standard Hampton Inn breakfast (free, nice) wasn’t kept replenished -- coffee out with long wait for refill and fresh fruit bowl empty and not refilled. Also note - hotel is on the edge of an unsavory Stamford, neighborhood. Not a real issue for me, but may be a consideration for some. Overall, in my opinion this is a can’t miss hotel and is highly recommended for the budget conscious business or leisure traveler.

Good deal

Stayed 3 nights. Tue night had complimentary wine and desserts. Wed night had complimentary wine and cheese. Amazing! Free breakfast was good. Room and facilities were very clean.

Comfortable and convenient

Nice hotel with plenty of extras and a great staff. Good value, my second stay here and I’m happy to recommend it. Shower had some mildew around the glass, otherwise the room was fine. My only complaint is that check-in is so late and check-out time so early and it’s pretty inconvenient when travelling for pleasure. They’re very accommodating when you request early check-in, but you still have to be out by 11.

Not your typical Hampton Inn

Very impressive. From the lobby, to the rooms, the plush beds, the new restaurant, the wine and cheese party for guests, and the friendly service, this was not the HI that I expected and was delighted to stay here. Would definitely stay again.

Not too bad, not that good

Not located in a good, safe area. Once inside the hotel itself, nice lobby, decent rooms, good restaurant. We were initially assigned to an occupied room, more of a problem for the guy in his boxer shorts than for us. Clerk at front desk was a bit rude, did not apologize for her mistake, and appeared annoyed that we didn’t accept the occupied room she had assigned us. Perhaps she thought Mr. Boxer Shorts would be a good roommate. She was about to assign us to another occupied room when the manager intervened. Manager was very nice and professional, and later personally delivered a fruit plate to our room and apologized on behalf of her staff. Overall, not that bad, but you could probably do better for the money.

Found this hotel to be convenient, clean and comfortable. Great place.

just okay

This Hampton Inn looks brick-building nice on the outside, but was very functional in terms of service and ammenities inside. What was most disappointing was the location. It’s across the river/stream from downtown Stamford, and I found it a bit unsafe to walk at night from downtown (where all the restaurants are) back to the hotel.

Very decent hotel

Hotel got a 5 in all categories from me. Room was clean, big, decent furniture, very comfortable bed; clean bathroom; curteous staff; very good breakfast. Very pleased with the hotel. Don’t know what else one can get for the price in Stamford, but you won’t be disappointed with this one.

Good place to spend the night on way to NYC

Very nice place to sleep and have breakfast on my trip to NYC. Nice park to walk in across the street. Did not find anyplace nearby we wanted to eat at. We will Stay there on our next trip to NYC, But will have dinner before we get to Hotel

No easy access from parking into Hotel so take your bags in when you check-in.
