Las Palmas By The Sea

Let me start by saying we had a very good time at this resort. The staff and people we met, were by far the friendliest at any resort we’ve ever stayed at. This hotel is very popular with the Mexican families which come in frequently on the weekends - we met alot of great people. Having said that, the resort is in need of some TLC and updating. Our biggest problem was the shower --ran fine the first two days, but after that we literally had no water pressure --just trickled out of the faucet. My other complaints, there was no alarm clock, and they never did call with wakeup calls, as we requested. Our Tv remote didn’t work ( as with everyone else at the resort) - the maintence guy never did show up, despite us asking 3 times. The bed was awfully hard, and the pillows were very old and lumpy. My last issue was there was no place to hang wet clothing and suits. They had a few hangers there, but were filthy dirty and I didn’t want to hang my nice clothes on them. The resort has a rustic charm to it - and the complaints I list here weren’t enough to ruin a vacation. My only real bother was the shower. The location was great - not far from the Marina or the Malecon, and thus cheap taxi fares. All in all was a great vacation, like I said the people were what made the difference. We didn’t pay much for this vacation and felt we got really what we paid for. I would go back to this resort again if we could get a good price.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Bring an alarm clock and extra hangers. They do charge a daily charge for use of the safe. They also require a deposit for the tv remote. They also reported to have hair dryer’s for guest to use if asked -- bring your own, you don’t want to use the one’s they have.

Stay away!!!!

After reading review I was quite confident that this is the right place for my family vacation...until we got there. The hotel is very old and very bad location, very noisy, rooms smell like mold, AC very loud, we didn’t have towels first day, no TV remote controlor, no iron, no hairdryer. I am not picky about food but this was horrible (flies all over)and drinks are the worst selection. I didn’t expect too much from a 21/2 stars hotel but this was very sad experience and I hope that other people will have better rating of this place but if you want to have a honest opinion stay away from this place and pay a little bit more for much for better stay. We spent the rest of our vacation at other place and we had a blast.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Spend a little bit more money and get the right vacation.
