Perfect location for anyone that enjoys the beach!
The staff is very friendly. There is nothing over the top about the rooms, but the beds are comfortable and the room was very clean. Great location. Many shops, restaurants, and pubs in the surrounding area. I’ve stayed here twice and would go back again!

Great Location and Resaurant
It was are 2nd time staying at the Surfer. Like are last time there it was a nice place to stay. The surfer is not a 4 star hotel by any means but you can’t beat the location or the freindly staff there. rooms are clean and grounds are kept nice.
Traveler's tip on dining
world famous restaurant is great and right next to the hotel. Also the hotel is close to all San Diego attractions,But most of all you can sleep with your patio door open and fall asleep and wake up to the sounds of the ocean.

Perfect Beach Getaway
After reading the reviews, I was quite ready to find a less than satisfactory hotel...but the price was right, the location seemed good and I figured what the heck...wouldn’t be in the room much anyway. I am happy to report that the Surfer Beach Hotel exceeded my expectations! It is definately not a 5 star resort and never claimed to be, but it is right on the boardwark of PB, has a wonderful view, great restaurant and quite a comfortable bed. The front desk staff were awesome, they moved us from a room with a good view to a room with a great view, no questions asked...I can’t wait to go back!
