We couldn’t wait to leave

For the price, I expected a little more. No frills, sure, but I didn’t expect to leave cringing. Although things seemed clean on the surface, there was an underlying grimy, shoddy feel to this motel, due to it’s age and lack of effort at updating. It is a traditional style motel with pretty thin walls, probably built in the 60’s or 70’s, getting one late 80’s update - the pool had been filled in, there was indoor/outdoor carpet on the upper walkways, hanging silk flower arrangements (an attempt to beautify) had tags still attached - most creepy of all was the dirty carpet in our room, treadbare arms on the two chairs in the room and the threads hanging off the synthetic, thin bedspread. Thanksfully we arrived late in the day, attended an evening event at Stanford, and left early the next morning. Days Inn should pay more attention to what they lend their name to. I will avoid this chain because of this experience in the future.

Just right for us

It was just right for us. Very affordable and close to shopping, dining and the Stanford Medical Center. We had a room with a malfunctioning light but the management quickly got us into another room. We don’t need bells and whistles, so we enjoyed staying here. We’ll likely go back in the near future.
