Off the main road so really quiet but walking distance to restaurants and shops. Friendly staff, beautiful decor and great breakfast. Quality stay for the price.

Inexpensive Ski Trip Lodging
This inexpensive hotel worked out great for my week-long ski trip. It’s located southeast of Salt Lake City in the community of Sandy, which is a great location for access to the Cottonwood Canyon ski resorts (Brighton, Solitude, Alta, Snowbird). Easy access to the highway, too, and shopping is all around. The room had a separate living room area with an easy chair & ottoman, desk w chair and flat-screen TV. The hotel has what they call a "continental breakfast" but it has eggs, biscuits & gravy, bacon or sausage, etc in addition to coffee & pastries. Has a decent work-out area with some free weights in addition to treadmills. An indoor pool and hot tub. The staff was helpful and friendly. Busses stop across the street and will carry you all the way to the ski resorts (plan on a 45-minute ride). There are also park-n-ride lots at the base of the mountains where you can leave your car if you’re the type that gets nervous driving on the winding mountain road during snowstorms, etc. (plan on a 20-minute ride) I have only two small complaints about this hotel... - the elevator is slow (there’s only one!) - there are snack & ice machines only on the first floor. Overall I don’t hesitate to recommend this hotel for ski trip lodging. It’s adequate and clean and much less expensive than staying at the on-the-mountain resort lodging.

Don’t miss the Red Iguana mexican food restaurant. Their specialty is "mole" (pronounced MOE-lay), which is a sauce made from spices, chili peppers and chocolate. They have several dishes with mole sauces ranging from very spicy to rich and dark.
