Bright and airy but farther from the beach than expected
The Luz Bay Club is a bight new airy hotel with rooms in 2-floor walk-up style buildings surrounding lovely landscape. The cooked breakfast was great but the first two plates i picked up did have dried food still on them! The receptionist wasn’t great with instructions on how to find our room; nor were we given a map of the premises with the locations of rooms or amenities. The beach was a further walk than i understood. But beach area and promenade has lots of restaurants and bars that are open late, all within walking distance of the hotel. We would certainly go back now that we know what’s where!

A wonderful break from cramped pensiones in Portugal!
I was hesitant about this place for fear that it would be too impersonal, but it wasn’t. Many of the other guests were staying long periods and we got to know one another over the course of the days. The facilities and grounds are beautiful, the rooms quite large and comfortable, and the location excellent. The hotel is also a short walk to the beach/boardwalk area and the main street of Praia da Luz. Within the context of a touristy region (the Algarve), staying in Luz gave us a much more intimate, authentic, uncrowded holiday experience than Lagos (which was horribly built up and very, very touristy). it was perfect!

Would love to go back
We had a wonderful day in Luz, and the Luz Bay Club was a special "find". The hotel was very accommodating, the staff was friendly and helpful. The walk to the beach is short, and the flowers and shrubs along the way were beautiful. The breakfast in the morning was great...good food and lots of variety.
