Helpful staff
The staff happily delivered a microwave to our room so we could warm leftovers from Indian restaurant accross the street. Front desk also gave us paper plates and plastic utensils.

Downtown Hotel
Hotel is new and in very good condition; staff are friendly; room was nicely decorated and clean. Valet parking only...tight fit getting into and out of parking area.

Front desk people were awesome!
We have never stayed at a motel where the front desk people were as helpful, pleasant, smiling, and ready to please as at this hotel. (Whoever trained them knew what guests want when they stay in an unfamiliar city.) They went way out of their way to make sure our first stay in Stamford was a good one. The only negative we experienced was the fact that their pool was closed for repairs, but they were willing to transport and pick us up at a health club (walking distance) or the other Marriott to make up for it. Parking is valet only, but our car was always there when we wanted it (give them 10 min. notice).
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Most things were a short walk away: movie theatre, mall, eating places, MacDonalds, etc. If you want to be downtown, this is as good a place as any to stay.
