Just OK.
The hotel is conveniently located at a 5 min. walk to Airlie Lagoon and the town center where there is a convience store and many options of restaurants if you don’t want to eat in the hotel. However, you do need a bus or taxi to take you to Abel Point Marina (where the ferries or tours usually leave) since there is a steep hill in between both. The rooms were just ok, very spacious but with ants on the bathroom counter that came back after being wiped away. The staff was nice except for a girl who seemed really annoyed by our questions. Yes, it is true, we asked her too many questions on the different options we could do while we stayed in Airlie Beach (we wanted to get the most out of it!) and ’bothered’ her since the early morning. But if you work in a hotel and are the concierge you should be willing to answer all the questions, even if they become annoying. That was the only downturn. Obviously go to famous Whitehaven Beach with one of the tour operators that take you there in a day. We went on the Fantasea Cruises but only because it had a 2x1 promotion. Otherwise, pick a tour with a smaller number of people for more attention to detail and personalized service (i.e. Mantaray Charters or Whitehaven Xpress). It is also a great location to skydive, if you like that sort of thing.
Traveler's tip
If you are there on a Sunday and are interested on religious services, St. Martin’s Church in Cannonvale, Airlie Beach (5-10 min. from hotel) offers several services. The Catholic Mass is at 6:30pm. The bus stop is right across the street from the church.

Awesome hotel
If you stay in this hotel, I highly recommend spending a little more money to get the Coral Sea Spa Suite. It has a jacuzzi and hammock on the balcony overlooking the ocean, and the bathroom wall opens to the ocean. The room was great, and the staff was wonderful. It is by far the best hotel and best location in Airlie Beach!
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Lock your door, as they don’t lock automatically! We had a drunk couple walk in on us in the middle of the night insisting we were in their room!
