Great Value

On a recent trip to PV, we wanted to split our trip and spend half of the time in Nuevo Vallarta and the other in PV to be near restaurants and culture. We spent four days at the Buenaventura and got exactly what we expected. The location was fantastic, were we able to walk to the Malecon, restaurants and shops or take a very cheap taxi. Our reservation included breakfast which was a great value, we purposefully didn’t go with the all inclusive plan. The room was nice, and pretty clean. Good sheets, decent bathroom and ample space. My two major complaints were the cleanliness of the hallways, they really could use a good cleaning, there were dead bugs and other nasty rubbish. The other complaint was that the music was way too loud at the pool. Other than that we really liked it.

Get a room on the beach side

We got stuck in a room next to the elevator on the very noisy street side and it was too inconvenient for the hotel to move us to any other room

Our favorite place to stay in PV!!

If you want a place to stay that makes you feel like you are royalty in your own home, this is the place. The staff bend over backwards to make sure you are taken care of, some of them became part of our family. We were there with a group this time for our daughter’s wedding. The wedding was beautiful, everything went smoothly and our whole group said they would return to the Buenaventura! The food is great and the location is the best in our oppinion.

We ate at the Barcelona Tapas and Joe Jack’s Fish Shack this time and both were outstanding! We returned to Le Kliff and were pleased as usual, no better view around.

Great Hotel & Staff

We’ve stayed at the Buenaventura before and it’s always a pleasure to get the personal attention from staff. They make us feel so welcome and cater to our every whim. My wife forgot her purse on the Hotel couch and didn’t realize it till we arrived at the airport I called the Hotel and the restaurant Captain found the purse and even delivered it to the Airport in his own vehicle. Talk about great staff they are a one in a million. I would recommend the Buenaventura to everyone.

Nice facilities, poor service

We spend time in PVR every September, always looking for a great hotel with great service. Started well, but the pool was closed the afternoon we arrived and the construction workers hung HAZARD tape and began using their power tools @ 8am - so much for the ocean waves. The hotel made no attempts to even apologize. SUnday brunch was great, but food and service deteriorated after that. Spa services were more expensive than PVR averages and the massage services were not ’up to par’. We liked the rooms and location, but we would not stay here again. Disappointing . . .

Trio was FANTAASTIC food. This is the best restaurant in PVR; probably the best meal I’ve had in Mexico.

We like the hotel and the location. We stay there every year.

The hotel isn’t fancy, but it is quite nice. All of the staff are very helpful and friendly. It’s a great location if you want to walk into the old part of Puerto vallatra.

Great resort for the cost

My husband I chose this hotel because it was within our budget and we liked what we saw in the pictures. Hotel met up to our expectations. Service was great, room was kept clean daily, beds were comfortable, food was tasty. Our only complaint was that we asked the staff at the front desk if incoming calls were free from the U.S. since a 1(800) number was provided and they told us yes. They said that it would cost to call out but that we could have incoming calls free of charge. As it turns out we racked up over 100 dollars in phone bills for a few quick converstaions with family in the U.S. who were keeping our small children. As it turns out they get commission on the incoming calls! Do not bother purchasing a phone card before hand either. No pay phones in the area will accept them and it cost $4 each time to dial out from the hotel even if you have one. Also, we requested a wake up call once and didn’t recieve it. Luckily we had set the alarm!

If you travel to Puerto Vallarta, regardless of the hotel that you stay at, beware of timeshare scams. We were suckered into one and are now finding out it may not be what we thought it was. Hind site is 20/20! Don’t jump into anything that sounds too good to be true like we did.

Great location

This hotel is in a great location, close the malecon and a lot of restaurants. All of the service was good, the only problem was with the concierge. When I called them to ask what time a very well known restaurant closes, they said they didn’t know, and didn’t bother to offer to find out for me. So exactly what is their job?? Other than that, everything was great.

Do not go to PiPi’s. The food is really gross. The atmosphere is great, but who cares? Instead go to Si Senor, which has wonderful food and a nice atmosphere.

Superb Service - Excellent Location - Recommended

The hotel is great at a great price, the service is amazing. The rooms are simple but confortable. The staff was over the top, always making sure we were taken care of and treated us like family. They work for tips so tip your servers and bartenders and they will take care of you. The food and drinks are ok but a good deal when you go all inclusive, ask for call name. The hotel is within walking distance or quick cab ride to downtown and zona romantica but not in the middle of it, It was nice to be close but away from all the noise. We truly enjoyed our visit and we plan to stay at this hotel again.

Do not talk to people at the airport they sell time shares and they are pushy. Use yellow cabs Use ATM’s to get money or pay with a credit card when possible - they get the best exchange rate

we had a great experience, everyone working there is very nice. the only problem we did experience was with maintenance of one of the rooms we got, the air conditing was not working for our first two nights there, which was not very pleasant to sleep.

It is really close to the nightlife and other good restaurants around...

it is always high on the list when planning vacation

have used this hotel over a ten year period (not every year) but it has improved )the location to be able to walk into town is great and many many good restaurants within walking distance .the pools and beach huts are great the staff immaculate in appearance and service.

Great Location

The hotel is located very close to el malecon which is nice...The food is okay... they offer many restaurants but there are not open all the time, only buffets(nothing great)... Room service is excellent if you have all inclusive package. Very quite after 10pm even the bar by the pool gets very sad... Overall we had a great time and we could stay there again just because the location.

We enjoyed the hotel very much - we were on the european plan so it was ideally located for us to explore the town without being in the really crowded part of town. We could walk everywhere - either on the beach or on the main road. I preferred to go up a few blocks to walk as the traffic can be loud. The beach was very nice and clean, the staff very friendly, the rooms extremely clean, although a little sparse - no ceiling fans- all in all I was very satisfied with the Buenaventura

Convenient, Friendly & Comfortable

My husband and I stayed at the Buenaventura for 10 days in early February. We were impressed with our location, the friendliness of staff and if any issues came up we were given prompt service, i.e., our jucuzzi wasn’t working the first evening and it was serviced the following morning when we told them.

Great place to stay that’s not a huge chain hotel. Two wings with four floors. Clean. Friendly and helpful staff. Right on the ocean.

First experience in Mexico

I must say that for our first experience in Mexico, this hotel was very good and well situated in downtown Puerto Vallarta. It made it easy to walk almost everywhere. The service was very friendly and almost impeccable. A few negative aspects: smoking is allowed in the publicly shared areas and birds, especially pigeons, are tolerated in the food areas. People overall were very friendly. Unfortunately, too often, it became a negative experience when this friendliness turned into a time share sale pitch. There is an overwhelming number of such people and it bordered on harrassement. This has nothing to do with the hotel however. With that being said, if and when we return to Puerto Vallarta, I would consider staying at the Buenaventura again.

We had the ’all inclusive’ package and it made for a very enjoyable stay. We did try a few other restaurants and the food was also excellent.

I will recommend this holtel just because they served diffenret kind of food everyday. This is not a tipical holter where they have the same food everyday. if you want to book a full packege I will chose this hotel. good service, good food, good people and close to everywhere. Make sure to tip the employees they work too hard.

For the price it was a very good value. It is centrally located, right on the beach, very clean, nice pools, good restaurant and bar, and staff was cheerful, helpful, and bilingual! I would definitely stay there again!

A Grand Stay at a Great Place with Incredible Services and People

This place was top notch. the food and the services offered here were well beyond our expectations. hospitality was professional and without a second thought. already planning for next year. we met incredible people from around the world in this place on the beach drinkin and playing and checking out of reality. the skin treatment by the pool; get it- dont waste money or weight on bringing stuff down. get the seven day package-best buy.

Dont do the day activities day after day, wheww, about wears you out. do a day trip, relax (that is what we are here for) do a day trip, relax. much more enjoyable. use the expedia experts above all. they will ensure you get the best and ask them questions for everything because its thier ciountry and they now what is best. and people- they are serious when they say keep walking until you see the EMARK guy.

Great place

Great place. Food and service was great. Beautifully kept. Their own travel people help set up fun things to do. only downside was that our room was near a utilty type room so the room had a humming noise at time-took getting used to. Staff are very friendy and helpful. get the all inclusive-worth the money you save in the long run on food and beverages.

In Puerta Vallarta there are alot of sales pitches for time shares and activities- can be annoying. Good time to go is during their off-season-November. Not very crowed and the weather is really great.

We try to get away to Puerto Vallarta once a year or so, and have always stayed at the Buenaventura. The accomodations are always very clean and comfortable. The hotel is a close walking distance to many attractions. It sits right on the beach, has a very nice pool and hottub overlooking the ocean, and the staff there is always extremely accomodating.
