Traveler’s stop with casino - Corning, CA
My son and I were driving him to his college in San Diego. Corning, California, is the halfway point, thus the reason for choosing it. This hotel was a step up from your usual highway motel/hotel. We had a two queen bed room that was satisfactorily appointed and clean with relatively new carpeting. The bathroom was clean with modern tiling. Included in the room price were free breakfast buffet tickets at the adjacent casino. We also elected to have dinner at the casino buffet. Our stay was quiet and uneventful. There was only one gentleman at the desk upon our arrival around 7 p.m. which caused some delay in registration as there was someone ahead of me, and he had to handle phone calls as well. Further south, there are other places to stay in Corning and more choices of places to eat. Further north is red Bluff which is a larger community with more significant choices of food and lodging. Our stay was comfortable and fit our needs, but another community would likely be more appealing to a family looking for a town full of activities.
Traveler's tip on nightlife
There is a casino adjacent to the hotel. There are some additional recreational activities offered through the "resort." These include fishing and hunting. The casino has endless rows of slot machines, a bar in several restaurants including the buffet.

Very clean and great staff!
The room was spotless; the staff was friendly and professional. I will certainly stay here again on my next visit.

Sleepless night...almost
This is a very nice hotel..and the breakfast at the casino was good. Our biggest complaint was noise. We were on the casino side of the hotel and they had live music until early into the morning which kept us awake. The acoustics in this hotel are very poor...it sounded like a herd of elephants whenever someone walked down the hallways upstairs. The parking situation was horrible. Both nights we stayed we had to park way out in the casino parking lot...seems to me if you pay for a hotel you should be able to park near it.

Ask for a room away from the casino especially if they are having live music.
