Cute, Quiet, and Well Located
Our stay at Stoney Creek was great. Every time I’ve visited Columbia I’ve either been to far away from Mizzou’s campus and the business district or I’ve stayed in hotels near those areas that I’d never stay in again. It was cute and clean. It was also quiet because it isn’t on a major roadway. I appreciated the hotel’s effort to go green. Be sure to check out the pool and hot tub grotto; it was nice.

Stoney Creek Columbia
I was less than impressed with several separate issues. The hotel policy on stays of more than a day is to not change linens unless a specific procedure is followed. While I appreciate the policy as an environmentally responsible plan, I was unaware that it meant the room would not be vacuumed, the in room coffee supplies would not be replenished and the beds would not be made during the 4 day/3 night stay. I was also caught unaware of their definition of the word suite. A themed suite is not two rooms nor does it sleep 4 in privacy. A king sized bed with a sleeper sofa near the foot of is not a suite in any other travel accommodation I have encountered. It is one large, very beautifully appointed room but not what was expected.

adorable place to stay
We enjoyed our hotel experience at Stoney Creek. It had great amenities and a good breakfast. The decor was fun and cheerful. They even have a special at the lounge every night which we enjoyed. Overall, we wish we could stay there again (hopefully our daughter applies to Mizzou when she graduates).
Traveler's tip on recreational activities
The katy trail was a great hike. It is located near the campus and is well shaded by trees.
