reasonably priced and
Nice breakfast and bar area, about 3 to 4 miles to downtown, health club was good, the pool area is a little small(it is the UK), and scenic back area. Room was okay but nothing special; the bathroom was large(tub and shower) with modern fixtures, some furniture was dated. Staff was friendly and service acceptable. Near (quarter mile) walking and cycling paths and trails to other parts of town, but have to cross over main highway. All in all okay, would stay there again.

Worn but still a value
I’ve stayed at the Swallow off and on for more than 10 years. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. While the hotel is aging and is in need of some TLC, the garden is always a welcome site and the breakfast is a value. Nice showers and a big bath tub set this hotel apart from some of the newer spartan accommodations elsewhere.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
The health and fitness areas have restrictive hours of operation, especially for business travelers (Please... how about 6AM-11PM); however, the H&F center at the Swallow has 3 good treadmills and great steam and sauna rooms. After a day or business or golf, it’s nice to relax.
