Would not recommend
Service was poor. Room was not cleaned during our five night stay (only the beds were made). Room did not have a security/privacy latch on the inside like most rooms do. "Lazy river" is much smaller than the webside would lead you to believe. Not impressed.

Sad to Leave!!!
We booked our vacation as a last minute decision. We had no idea of where we even wanted to go. I stumbled upon Myrtle Beach and there was a link to the Island Vista as a recommended hotel. I looked at it and thought it looked very nice. We booked it and ended up with a 3 bedroom, 3 bath, 1500sq ft suite on the 7th floor. (We usually book a single room with 2 beds, but this room type wasnt available at the time.) What outstanding accomodations! Our suite had a full kitchen, washer & dryer, and large private balcony with a most spectacular view. We left our bedroom slider open every night and fell asleep to the sound of the ocean. While we didnt need all that room for just 3 of us, it was really nice to have it. I would book the same room next time, even if the single bedroom is available. The suite was very clean and hotel staff were wonderful. They let us stay late the day of checkout (usually 11:00am)- since our flight wasnt until 6pm, we were told to stay as late as we wanted that day! It really made departure day much more relaxing. I called to report a broken faucet handle on the jacuzzi tub, and maintence was at my door, and it was fixed in 15 minutes! The property actually had the nicest beach area around. The pools were nice and the Tiki Hut food was actually pretty good. Great Location!! I cant wait to go back!!!!
Traveler's tip on local attractions
We went to the Mideval Times Dinner and Tournament - it was worth it and the food was actually good. Ripleys Aquarium was also very nice. Broadway on the Beach was a great thing to do at night - have dinner and walk around - lots of shops and amusements.

Lovely place to stay
we found this hotel when looking for a nice oceanfront hotel in Myrtle Beach. The website was great and we hoped it would be as nice as it looked....it was! They upgraded our 2 BR suite to a 3BR suite so the kids each had their own room and TV and boy was that a hit! The furnishings were lovely island style and kitchen was fully furnished. The only complaint I can think of was that the maid service wasnt perfect in that they didnt vacuum everyday and forgot to replace the coffee packs, but the pools were nice and the beach out front was beautiful.
Be sure to do Magiquest and the Medieval Times banquet if you have kids! I am a grown up and I loved them both! Also, Joes Crab Shack and Cheeseburger in Paradise were our favorite restaurants...the key lime pie and the "Lady of the Sea" at CIP were the best pie and pina colada Ive ever had!
