A room with a view...
It was a good experience....the room was quite small but it was clean, the first 3 nights was very cold, the heater in the room was not working, we were told they shut it off and will have a technician come that day...he came 2 days later... the breakfast was good but it was the same thing day after day...no eggs or bacon!! One evening i got hungry and wanted to reheat the food we had earlier from the restaurant, the front desk was very reluctant to do so...she said they normally do not allow it!! She didn’t even know where the microwave was located!! Overall, the hotel was good, if you only come to sleep.. Our room had the most breathtaking views overlooking the whole val di pesa/ florence. If we were to go back again, i would probably want to stay closer to the city, but for those peoplewho likes the quiet atmosphere and views...this is the hotel for you...also considering the fact how ver inexpensive it is! Go for it!!

Very nice, but not what we reserved
This hotel was very nice, located at the top of a beautiful mountain. The views were breath taking. The restaurant attached was delicious. The staff was very friendly. BEWARE OF THE FAMILY ROOM: We booked the family room, which is advertised as 1 double bed, 2 twin beds, and a sofa bed. It is also supposed to have a fireplace, dial up internet, a fax machine, and a hair dryer. When we got there we got 1 double bed and a sofa bed. The matress on the sofa bed was very thin, and was uncomforable. The family room fits 4 people at the most. We had no fire place in our room, no fax machine, and our hair dryer did not work. As for the internet, we had to pay for it, and the connection was very weak. We had to search for the place in the room where the connection would work. Overall, because of the views and scenery the hotel was nice. But as for the room, it was not what we had reserved.
Traveler's tip
Be careful with the shell gas station down the street from the hotel. When there are no attendands you have to manually insert money into a kiosk to prepay. The kiosk ate our money, and would not give us gas. We had to return the next day for a refund.

great view, hill top, clean
family of 4 ; nice, clean hotel on hill top ; approx. 15 min. to Florence by car ; good breakfast ; need car to get to hotel (you don’t want to hike up that steep road) ; most of the staff was friendly and helpful
