look before you stay
Don’t be deceived by the photos. I didn’t feel safe staying at this hotel. And my room was not comfortable at all. This was in June and the weather was over 90 degrees and our a/c didn’t work very well. Our carpet had wet spots like there was a flood or water damage in our room. Overall I am not coming back to this hotel ever again.

Scary place
In the afternoon when we checked in the hotel looked quiet and like any other cheap hotel. But once it got dark the ghetto-ness came out. When we returned from dinner, there were a lot of strange men hanging around smoking, drinking and hooking up w/ girls in the parking lot. It looked pretty scary so we made sure we locked our room and took anything valuable out of the car. We were in Modesto during the first week of June so the temperature was hot! Our A/C didn’t get the room cool enough so we had the windows open. But with all the people hanging around outside we had to close our windows. Our room was really stuffy so we tried to run the A/C again. We eventually just fell asleep, feeling icky the next morning. If you can book any other hotel do so. This is not a place I want to stay again. PS there is free internet access but so do other better, cheaper hotels.
Traveler's tip on dining
Take the freeway and get off at Briggsmore, Carpenter, or Sisk (near the Vintage Fair Mall) and you will find lots of restaurants from steakhouses to fast food chains. And Walmart is 24 hrs so if you forget something you can stop to get it.
