Very nice hotel
The hotel is downtown and close to major sites. You can walk to nearly everything. The staff was very helpful, showing my friend and I, where to find shops, restaurants, and historical sites. Great maps for the city. The room was a little small for two double beds, but perfectly adequate. Everything was clean. The desk staff was even able to convert currency in small amounts, without charge, and advised using a credit card for most purchases. Victoria is a beautiful city. Too bad there is a charge for parking.

It got the job done
We were looking for a hotel near Government St., so it would be easy to get to shops and restaurants. The room was a decent size and clean, and the bed was comfortable. Unfortunately, there are some loud nightclubs near the hotel, and so it was noisy late at night when we were trying to get to sleep. As we were packing to leave, we discovered earplugs in the night stand. It would have been nice to have been told about those when we checked in. I thought the desk staff were not particularly friendly or helpful compared with other hotels I have stayed at. Victoria is so small that we could have stayed near the ferry terminal, and it would still have been easy to walk to Government St. I think thats what well do next time.

Convenient Location
Carpets need to be changed. Hallways smell like curry or incense.Music from night clubs nearby can be heard in our rooms as well as people walking in the streets talking loudly late at night. We booked 2 rooms for the same price but we were given one fairly big room and one smaller one. Narrow room windows are a little cramped up. Hotel is a little overpriced. I like the valet parking even with a fee adn tip. Restaurant adjacent to the hotel is great to eat breakfast. Friendly tourists/people all over Victoria.
Traveler's tip on nightlife
If you are into bar hopping and night life, this is the hotel for you. Everywhere is walking distance. Convenient for shopping, dining, sightseeing.....The Prliament, Empress Hotel, Inner Harbor, etc.
