Cheap and convenient, no hidden charges

Convenient as a place to lay one’s head for both airport and downtown. No frills but includes wireless internet and local calls, reasonable breakfast. Maintenance is a bit spotty. Have stayed twice this year. Second stay, had to ask for phone to be replaced. TV remote had lost its battery cover and there were some ants in the bathroom. First stay was without problems.

If you are renting a car at the airport, the cheapest gas station for your final fill up seems to be at the Walmart on Ben White.

We stayed there on a Saturday night. It was clean and very affordable for a King sized bed. We did not get to check out the pool. It is not in prime location being on the highway if you don’t have a car, we had to walk down the highway and then about 1/2 mile to get a bus. But, it’s one of the closest hotels to downtown that are actually cheap.

If we were grossed out, anyone would be!

My mother and I are are very low-maintenance and undemanding travelers. We often stay in budget hotels to maximize our trip funds, and have learned to be comfortable and happy in the humblest of surroundings. As long as there is a bed, shower and coffeemaker, we are right as pie. That being said, we could not believe that Expedia even does business with this location. Let me start by saying that the staff is very friendly and accommodating, they are the only plus of this hotel. Our first room smelled like the kind of mildew that has settled into old furniture and rug for years, we even refused to walk on the floor without shoes. The drain was clogged, the walls were crumbling, it was a mess! We tried to settle in for the night, and the cable TV died. We were switched to a different room that had working cable, but we traded the mildew for a gagging urine smell. The shower handle was installed incorrectly so that you could either take a warm shower with no pressure, or a searing shower with ok pressure. We spent the entire second day cleaning the room ourselves, and placing scented candles everywhere to get through our 8 day stay. I have to reiterate that we are the kind of women that love camping, staying at a clean hostel, etc. We rarely say anything worse than "It was a cozy place for the money". In this case, I would tell people to not even consider this location. I would have spent another few hundred just to have what you would expect at any Motel 6!
